A good thumbs width over I always thought was, well, the rule of thumb. I'm not a quilter, but I love sewing and I totally understand the excitement that comes with a fabric purchase and all the possibilities that it opens up. It is a bit mean when the shop undercuts the amount of fabric in a fat quarter. Perhaps it was just some poor soul given the tedious task of cutting up the quarters who went a bit cross-eyed after too many hours on the job. Although it's suspicious that in their fatigue they didn't make a mistake on the other side of the line too ... . Best of luck with your new project. I look forward to seeing what these lovely squares become, BonnyBonny Bonafillahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17735110907048794437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-162042727452052782.post-17314135286723091582016-01-20T23:20:37.505-05:002016-01-20T23:20:37.505-05:00I like fabric. Though I remember standing for what seemed like HOURS while my mom went through fabric, got it measured and cut...then I did the same thing to my daughter! I've not done much sewing lately, but it's still hard not to pick up a pretty pack of fat quarters. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment, which led me to your blog. I've just read your post, "my about me post" and honestly, it could have been written by me, (except I don't write as well as you). It touched my heart! Thanks you. I will be back to read more. The one you said could be Christmas, reminds me instead of President's Day (cherries!). Speaking of presidents, my niece will pick up her adopted pups on Lincoln's birthday and she is naming one of the pups Lincoln! I've never had a measurement problem at a quilt store but at a regular fabric store I've had many a challenge with being shorted just enough to have to go back and buy another piece to make everything right. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-162042727452052782.post-39508004984163035042016-01-19T11:56:34.740-05:002016-01-19T11:56:34.740-05:00i am not a quilter but this is not boring. i love ...i am not a quilter but this is not boring. i love all the solids, so bright and pretty.
