From Willow Slough
Remember the guy on top of the windmill yesterday? Well, these pictures were from that same day, so they give an idea of how cold it was. These are of Willow Slough, but I guess I should include that the DNR guy there said that for the most part it is knee deep. So, it will freeze sooner than a deeper lake.

This is a lovely spot, and you've captured the delicate freeze perfectly! Oak leaves are a favorite of mine, so I especially like the curled ones. One other thing - I kind of got off on a tear last time over the whole wind power thing, and so didn't really acknowledge the quality of your shots the way I wanted to. You showed the towers at their impressive best, and I did enjoy looking at them - honest!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like that last shot! The leaf is just sitting there so perfectly. I like the lotus pod, too. I brought a couple of those home this year from Blue Grass...I like how they rattle :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are just such nice pictures, I like them ~ thanks for sharing! You are so creative with your pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wintery looking shots!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the round thing in the second picture until I read Mary's comment.
Happy Thanksgiving Rose!
Nice pics, Rose. Late autumn is really here, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Rose, and yes, it looks COLD! :-) I particularly love the last shot of the leaf on the ice. Wonderful!

Great shots - very artistic those last two!
ReplyDeleteOnly knee deep - I wouldn't have guessed.
I like these.
