Something the farmer missed....and I bet there will be some animal thankful for it. Probably a squirrel. It really is most amazing that one very seldom sees anything actually left standing in the fields like this, considering all the land that is farmed in this area. When the farmers get done, usually not a thing is left standing. I am sure that is some on the ground...but I don't there is much.
Rose you are right very seldom anyting left behind in the farmers fields! Because I am surrounded by Amish farms...most times their children are expected to *walk* thru the fields after the harvest to gather any spare ears of corn left! Otherwise I bet there are some happy *field mice* too! Happy quilting to you! Barb
