Which do you like best?

The first picture is taken with a cokin filter...I do not remember which one. I wanted to try it out because as you can see in the second photo the sky was on the colorless side. I am not even sure which one I like best. The third picture is taken from the other side of the creek, I think.

This is the Narrows Covered Bridge, one of many in Parke Country, Indiana. It was built in 1882 by J. A. Britton and is 120 feet in length. Britton is interesting to read about...he read law had been admitted to the Kansas and Indiana bars, but that occupation did not satisfy him. Bridge building did. I suggest you follow the link--it is a short read and I cannot say it better.
The bridges were made of locally available timber, such as oak or tulip poplar. And part might be laid out in a nearby field and constructed first.

  1. I like the second picture best of the two. All good shots. I will have to try to make it to the Covered Bridge Festival this year.

  2. I like the second one best also. Covered bridges are so interesting but Georgia only has about 16 left and most are too far. We've been to the closest one about 5 times and I never get tired of it.

  5. I like the ntural coloured one too, evn if the sky is bland.

Covered bridges are beautiful and have an old-timey feeling. Very nice.

  6. I can't really make up my mind either - I like them both but in different ways! The 1st, like you said, gives color to the sky & I really like the tint - but the 2nd is natural & that's always good too!!!

  7. I also wanted to add that I like how the rock seems to stand out more in the 1st - plus the green - oh, I just like em both! hehehe

  8. I like the last two. The first one might appeal to me more if it weren't quite as bright.

  10. Your covered bridges are beautiful and your photos are wonderful! They look a bit different from the ones in my province of NB as most of ours are not painted, actually only one that I know of is. All the others just have a grey, weathered barn board appearance.

Thank you for your recent comments on my blogs.

  11. I like the second picture best but they are all great. We do not see many covered bridges around Georgia.
