Last night this was the second place I went...the first one did not work out. I wanted something besides a tree in the picture with the moon. I went to a church that had an interesting outline but could not get in a position to get it and the moon. So on down the road is this little graveyard. So we pulled in there and here are some images from then. I like the last one simple because when enlarge you can clearly see an old jet stream.
As a side note, in this cemetery is a big tall headstone. I can't remember if all four sides has a name on it, but I know two sides do. One is someone killed during the Civil War while in Cumberland Gap, TN. Cumberland Gap was my mailing address for a big part of my life...we lived on a farm, though, not in town. And on another side of this same headstone his brother was killed a couple days later in Tazewell, TN--that is the county seat of Claiborne County. My county. Really made me feel sort of strange to be from the place those two boys were killed at--even if it was over a hundred years ago.
I like that first one a lot. It's a little spooky to see SELF on the tombstone in the second one.
ReplyDeleteI could see the contrails before enlarging. That one reminds me of a Halloween night.
My camera just won't do this so I'm envious of the great shots in these last two posts.
How interesting the coincidences that happen. I like the third picture it has an eerie quality.
ReplyDeleteThat first one is really spooky. In fact they all are! Your husband is a good sport to go along with your adventure.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual look at the cemetery. I like the idea.

ReplyDeleteWOW great pictures, lots of talent in your picture taking! But I must admit it makes me feel like I should have my jack-o-lanters ready to go ;>)! You seem to be having a great time with your picture taking, does your hubby enjoy taking pictures or is he the driver for your ventures!
ReplyDeleteThey're all beautiful. I'm new to sky watch.
ReplyDeleteA cemetery at night? I have never been to one at night. You did capture a beautiful shot of the moon.
ReplyDeleteCemeteries always fascinate me. The tombstones, the informaion on them, all the history. That second picture with the tombstone that says "Self" on it, sort of grabs you! I realize it is someone's name, but it seems so personal! That is interesting about the 2 boys and their connection to things in your past. Eerie....but great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of cemeteries, and I love these photos. Taking them at night adds such a moodiness to them!
