Christmas scene....

I am not sure when I first started noticing this barn at Christmas...it was several years ago.
I had never tried to capture the scene before yesterday...I always just thought the road that led up close to it was the drive. I guess I was always focused on the barn and did not really take in the obvious--it has a public road that leads right past it.
So I got to photograph it yesterday...
and I am pretty well happy with the results. Oh, they could probably be better but I am just so thankful to have finally captured it at all.

I am still trying to gather my thoughts together enough to do the 6 random things about myself. I have got a couple picked out that I am pretty sure I am going to use...but other than that not sure what else I will tell. I will try to get it together sometime during the coming days.

  1. The barn in gorgeous in the snow, perfect for decorating! Hmmm. I don't know if any barns here have wreaths on them. This is unique, I suspect.

  3. I've never seen a barn with the silos so integrated into the design. The decorations add a fine touch to this already picturesque building. Fine series.

  7. It sounds like you better think of something before Neal beats you to it - brothers can be tough sometimes! hehehe

This is an odd shaped barn - It's so narrow - why is that? I see the grain bins, but the barn itself is so tall & skinny. I like it, don't get me wrong - it just isn't what I'm used to around here. lol I like that they added the wreath in the middle like that - it's subtle!

  8. What a great barn! I love the way you've photographed it, the angles and the light. You can almost sense the old girl's pride at having a Christmas wreath to show off. Beautiful series.

The snow makes all the difference though.

  13. I love how this looks with the snow and Christmas decorations! When we were by there this summer (2011) the place was up for sale. Haven't been back that way since to know if anyone bought it. Thanks for the link to show me this post. =)
