Getting ready...

This is a building we encountered on our drive to Cataract Falls. I would love to know what that big thing on top is...in fact, would you just love to dig around in this place. Look at that chair sitting there...and I would love to know what is behind the door of the little red addition. I think that looks like it has been added later than the original...but I could be wrong.
..............
Tomorrow our youngest daughter turns 27...I cannot believe she is that old. She still looks like a kid. I think she is one of those women that just won't age. If she does it will be much more gracefully than I. To see her with Lorelei, she looks like a kid with a kid...and I honestly bet that is what lot of people think.

We had fun yesterday...Lorelei was so entertaining. She slept while we ate, but also was laughing in her sleep, which in turn had us cracking up. She does have the sweetest little toothless smile! It is enough to melt the heart.

I am still in the creative mood...working with my Electric Quilt program to design another little quilt for Lorelei...I want it bigger than the other one but still not going for twin size yet. At least I don't think I will. What I want to do I have done before...it is a simple pattern....and old, old pattern in fact. But it is a matter of color placement. I have to have a 'map' to follow, and sometimes I still have to rip out seams.

I have been interrupted with a phone call...I don't recall what else I was going to tell, if anything. So will close and get busy here. My brother is also coming down tomorrow...they want to see Lorelei and I thought it would be a good time.

  1. It is hard to tell what that is on top, even clickin gon it. Maybe some kind of exhaust? Intriguing building, anyway. I'm like you, I'd want to get inside and root around, see what neat stuff was left behind to tell a story. Have a fun family visit!

  2. Hi Rose, You know it looks like a vent of some sort. In fact the building looks like an old meat packing plant. Like where they butchered animals. Sorta gross but needful.

    You grandbaby is so precious.

what kind of hawk is in the previous post? Looks almost like a Kestrel--butnot quite. ??? MB

  3. Knew you would have a wonderful day with Lorelei. We are getting closer to having our new addition.

I am sure the new quilt will be as nice as the other one. I don't understand what people do with their time if they don't do some type of craft.

  4. Rose: I like old buildings and this one is neat. I would say from the shape that it is a fan to pull heat and/or smell from teh building.
I love your hawk below also.

  5. Looks like the top of some sort of chimney that fell over and I bet someone lived in the part behind the door in the red part. Interesting old building.

  7. Wonderful old building, Rose. It's great to see three different views.

Lorelei continues to be delightful! Another quilt? Well, if she weren't so darn cute I'd wonder why...but I totally understand. ;-)
