They are very pretty. I bought a wild-flower book with the intention of learning do distinguish flowers out in the field. There were so many almost alike that I finally gave up! Very good looking image.
Very pretty little flowers, love the true yellow that you captured in your picture! They remind me of a *snapdragon*, but not sure since they are growing as a wildflower! Very pretty even as a mystery flower!
I don't think I've seen these before, but on a lark I looked them up in a field guide I have (Tallgrass Prairie Wildflowers) and found they're called Pencil Flowers (because of the color) I'll have to look for them!

ReplyDeleteI don't know what they are, but their color is great. I too, have given up on trying to identify wildflowers. My guide book is awful.
