I really hope you will enlarge these...I think they are pretty as they are but that enlarging them still improves them. Not sure what this first flower is. But I really think it pretty.
Then we have the daisy....
I am really starting to love them. I wish I could capture them the way I see them...they grow in patches along the road and in the fields out at the strip pits. I tried taking pictures of one of the patches out there, but the lighting was wrong I guess. I will have to try to be out there at a different time of day.
The views of the single flowers of both of these turned out better than I had hoped...the wind was blowing the whole time I was out there. I was trying to get pictures of this other flower and am not sure I will post any that I took...all just a little bit blurry to my eyes.
---------------
Lorelei was here today.....she is such a cutie. (I am not biased at all.) She was not quite as talkative as she is some days. And she was fascinated with her Grandpa today. She would just stare and stare at him and grin real big if he talked to her. She does not nap much. Every now and then I get her to take an hour nap--maybe once or twice a week. Other than that she usually takes about 3 little naps per day where I am lucky if she sleeps 30 minutes. I will try to take a few new pictures of her this week.
I don't know what kind of flowers, the first ones are, either, but they are pretty, pretty, pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat first blossom is a beautiful flower with in unique looking angled petals. The daisies always look good.
ReplyDeleteFor me it seems very difficult to capture the feel I have when looking at a field of flowers...the shot seldom comes off the way I saw the flowers.
Does Lorelei already have her Grandpa wrapped around her little finger? If not it sounds as if she soon will. Your pictures of the flowers are wonderful, especially the close-ups.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, I don't know what your little roadside flower is --but it is pretty. I of course also love the daisies.
ReplyDeleteThat Lorelei is going to be her granddaddy's girl!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Pretty flowers, I too love Daisies, unfortunately my beds of Daisies were flattened last night by a hard storm..long and lasting with T, L and rain!
ReplyDeleteYep I can promise Lorelei will be grandpas girl...that is just how it is :>)!
I agree, the simplest things, roadside flowers whose names we don't even know, can bring so much pleasure!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pink flowers! I've not seen them before, but should I happen to spy some in a local ditch, I'm sure they might find their way to my yard! Love the daisies, too; so cheerful.
ReplyDeletePretty sure that the top picture is crown vetch.
ReplyDeleteLove the pink flower. Neal says "crown vetch" and probably he's correct. I'll have to check out my wildflower field guide. ;-)
ReplyDeleteDaisies are just beginning to bloom here. I like your photos!
I have to grin Rose. Hubs and I went for a day long ride yesterday and I also took shots of each of these flowers.
ReplyDeleteThe crown vetch and daisies are both growing all along the highways. I saw some really pretty clumps of daisies but they never quite looked right in my photos either; at least not what I saw.
Yes....crown vetch. I think it is pretty, too and have been seeing a lot of it right now on roadsides. It is used as groudcover on hillsides sometimes. Love the daisys!
