Last year I could not snag a picture of a dragofly no matter how hard I tried...not even a really blurry one. This year, I have at last crossed that hurtle. I guess it it is a matter of being in the right place at the right time with camera.
What great pictures of the Drangon Fly...how on earth did you get so close? The court house on your previous entry is amazing...can't imagine in small town USA, but there it is! Have a great weekend!
You got that last sentence right! Photography is often being in the right time at the right place -- of course it helps if you put yourself in the right place at the right time...
These are just excellent photos, Rose, of a flighty creature!
With camera indeed. I just got home today and had my camera in hand looking at the solar lights Hubs was putting in when a dragonfly landed. I haven't downloaded it yet so I don't know if it's good or not; but I had my camera. Yeah! These are really good!!
Thank you for visiting my blog...I hope you like it enough to take the time to comment. I enjoy comments so much, and always try to make a return visit.
Lovely macro captures of dragonflies, Rose! Nice work! :-D mary

ReplyDeleteNice macro shots, Rose. Yes, it does mean being in the right spot at the right time. ;-)

Beautiful! I think the Widow Skimmer is one of the most cooperative posers and always looks great with those beautiful wings.
ReplyDeleteYour time to get a good one arrived! A fine close up with all the detail and color I like in these shots. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! I saw 3 different colors of dragonflies when I was last in south Alabama.
ReplyDeleteWith camera indeed.

Rose: Once you get the first others will certainly follow. Those are neat photos.
ReplyDeleteWish I could get a photo of a dragonfly this clear. They are hard to get. Great capture.
