From a short drive....

To get my mind off things, Roger ask if I wanted to do anything like go for a drive. I needed something to distract me, so first we ran to Walmart to pick up something he needed. We were at the Walmart in Paris, Illinois. Having never driven south on the road where it is located, we decided to see where the road led.
I didn't take many pictures at all...a few over 20. Not at all like I normally would take. And half the ones I took are so blurred it isn't even funny.
But I did manage these captures. The one of the hawk is cropped, and I had to use fill flash to get even this view. Not at all sure how it will look to your eyes.

  1. I love your photos. Photos of flowers and bees/butterflies are my favorite to take next to streams/rocks. I hope you were distracted. I needed some distraction yesterday. Perhaps I should have gone to WalMart. That's pretty distracting!

  2. A ride with your camera is a good way to take your mind off things that are niggling at you. I HATE it when I return home and I don't like any of the photos I've taken. But hey! It's still worth it to get out of the house and concentrate on what mother nature has to offer.

I think hawks are hard to capture under any circumstances. They see me and take off!

  3. Not bad at all, Rose! I often use fill flash...can't always get the light right without it.

I like the little buzzer on the flower best, I think.

Glad you went for a ride down an unknown road. So many things happen down unknown roads.

    Have a great day!

  7. Hey There, I'm glad your Sweetie got you out for awhile. We all need distractions from life at times. You got some great shots--even though you said that you didn't get many.

The weather has been PERFECT --so just getting out for awhile is GREAT.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  10. The hawk looks good to me! I'm glad you got out for awhile to relax and take photos. I've been getting a lot of unfocused ones, too. Maybe we have the same temporary "blindness" bug :-)
