A Viceroy and a Monarch

The Viceroy above is a little bit the worse for wear, but still a pretty good image.  And the Monarch is beautiful as usual.  Can you tell the difference between the viceroy and the monarch?
If you want, check this page out and scroll towards the bottom for another picture.  Or look at the photo above and notice where the arrows are pointing.

I am definitely feeling better today, so plan on getting a visit in with everyone over the weekend.  Until I see you, have a good weekend.

  1. Glad you are feeling better Rose. I've been thinking about you.. It's not easy taking care of a baby.. You will 'catch' what they 'catch'.... That's just part of it!!!!

ANYHOW---I'm thrilled to hear that you are feeling better. Love your butterflies---and can see the differences. Both are beautiful.

  3. Rose, they're very pretty photos! I really like the 2nd shot - a flutterby profile!

  4. Nice catches Rose!
I dreampt about butterflies last night. I think it's because yesterday I was thinking how I hadn't been out trying to get any pictures. :)

  5. I've never been able to discern much difference between some butterflies...I think to do so wracks my little brain too much!

    Lovely photos, though.

  6. Neat photos that show the difference between viceroys and monarchs, Rose. I haven't seen any viceroys this year. In fact, I have seen very few butterflies.

    Glad you're feeling better!
