The view from this road

These were taken about a week ago...
the color is really beginning all around. The tree above is the one you see across the road from the church in the first photo.
Stepping past that tree and looking on down the road this farm was the view.

Going back to the first photo, there is a road right before the church that leads to this place. Still not positive I could find it again, but I know more about the place to begin looking. As you can see here, there was a camper trailer parked there this time. I think they are beginning to work on the house. No one was there...if there had been, I think we would have stopped to ask questions. I am so curious about the history of this fine old farm.

I have been being gone/or occupied with Lorelei this whole week. I am not sick, or anything...just been preoccupied with other things. I had not planned to take so long a break from blogging, or I would have warned everyone. I am going to try to start posting again on a regular basis, and get in some visits. I may not comment on every post, but I sure wonder what has been happening with everyone.

  1. I knew it! When the page loaded & I saw the 3 brick arches, I knew I'd seen them before. I grew up in a house w/ 3 brick arches - we called it a breezeway - for 32 years. It wasn't a 2 story house like the one you have here, but a Spanish touch, just the same. I sooooooo wish I could have bought my parents house. It just seems UN-NATURAL that another family is living there & may I add, not such a good family either. It's a shame!!!
We'll be here when you're ready to post... don't you worry bout that!
It's good to hear from you!

  2. Sure looks like typical Indiana :-) I hope you find out about that old farm in the last photo eventually. I know you are really busy, so rest up when you can. We understand.

  3. Glad you are doing okay Rose... I have been busy also this week and haven't posted as much as I usually do. We are in Jacksonville tonight --and will go to my brother's Memorial Service tomorrow.

Your colors up there are getting prettier. Maybe after this weekend cold spell, the trees will really turn more. Ya think????

    How is Bright Eyes????
    Hugs,

  4. The colors in your area are getting really nice, ours are just beginning. I followed the link to your earlier post, that old barn is so cool. I would love to turn something like that into a house.

Not to worry, we all get caught up in other things. And if that is Lorelei on your sidebar then enjoy and have fun, she is a doll.

  5. I was wondering where you were! Glad your back to do some posting. I DO think its good to take a short break once in while, though.

The tree across from the church is really pretty. I hope the sun comes out today because I want to capture a little more of the autumn leaves before they fall to the ground.

  6. I'm glad you are just busy and no experiencing one of life's bumps! The autumn colors are gorgeous. Our trees here are simply turning brown - lack of water I suspect. I hope you get to return to the old farm and check it out further. It was very nice to see your name among the commenters!

  10. You needn't apologize. We all are busy and can't sometimes do the blogging we'd like to do. I know I can't.

I love all these photos, Rose...great reminders of life in the midwest where I spent most of my early years!
