Just a little update

If you haven't seen the video of Lorelei, please be sure to scroll on down to see it while you are here. You will have to have your volume turned way up to hear the music in the background. Anyway, to the update.

Roger felt like he was really starting to get well the past couple of days but got up feeling horrible again this morn. So to the doctor we went. I don't think she knows quite what to think...she is trying to treat at least one of his symptoms. And she is having some lab work done. Blood tests.

When we went over to the hospital, I just stayed out in the waiting room. Not a lot of room in the lab. They called Code Blue to the lab...everyone went running. I was hoping that it wasn't him, but it was. His blood sugar went real low and he crashed. Passed out and woke up to everyone over him.

He is diabetic. What is strange with this, besides not running a temperature, normally if he has a cold, or sick in any way, his sugar will be high. No matter if he hasn't eaten anything, it will still run high. With this, it is running normal.

So that is what is going on here.

  1. I'm sorry, Rose, that Roger is so sick. I hope they can find out what is wrong. Sorry about his blood sugar. Being sick causes the blood sugar to go haywire... His obviously has done that!!! Glad he was at the hospital when that happened.

Keep me posted. My prayers are with him and you... I did see that precious video.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  5. We have two grandchildren with Type 1 diabetes; it's a great concern. I don't understand what's going on with Roger, either...perhaps another doctor and another opinion...

Frightening, though and the worst thing sometimes is not knowing what is the problem.

Perhaps the blood work will give some clues.

The video is precious! What a cutie...if she could keep her head up for a longer period, she'd probably still be bobbing around...

    Have a great weekend, Rose!

  6. I'm so glad you took Roger to the doctor's, Rose! It's always better to get help with diabetes. (My husband is diabetic too.) I hope Roger is getting (or has gotten) a shot for H1N1 flu, as diabetics are in a high-risk category.

  7. I was sorry to hear of Roger's problem. It is good that he was where expert and quick care was available. I trust that something definite will be discovered with the tests so control can be assured.
