One week ago....

This is a scene from a week ago....if they were closer, I would be driving by to see if they are still there or all melted. I feel sure they have at least fallen to the ground. Even though we have had a lot of melting, we still have snow on the ground. We had snow flurries this evening, and we are supposed to have snow showers tomorrow.

I have seen buzzards, but I am still watching for my first robin. I think I usually see the first ones in February. My lilac continues to have big buds, and somewhere we were I really noticed a big tree starting to get lots of buds. I suppose it is the number of daylight hours plus sunshine that triggers the growth.

Meanwhile, I will try to wait patiently for spring to appear.

  2. wow..those are big icicles! Very beautiful! I hope they are melted by now. We are cold today, but temps are going back up into the 40's this weekend. Just think....it won't be long before you'll be taking Lorelei along and teaching her all about the things you see :-)

  3. I'm trying to wait patiently, too! We're suppose to have snow flurries today, but I seriously doubt that!

  4. Beautiful ice flows!
Our snow was all melted this morning; but we are having small flurries and are expecting between 5-10 inches before Saturday. I was hoping Spring but I don't think anytime soon.
Usually we have robins by now or did last year but none so far.

  5. There were a bunch of robins in our yard about 2 weeks ago. I'll bet there were between 10-20 out there in a patch where they could see the ground....probably wondering what it was. :)
