Normal and photoshopped
These are from the foggy trip up north the other day. The top photo is
the true to life photo...I did staighten the image, but otherwise it
is as I took it. This was taken after the fog had really started
to lift...if it had been earlier when we first started, or even an
hour earlier, we would not even have known it was there.
This bottom one I did the auto levels on...I actually like it best as
photos go, but the other will always make the memory of the trip
more vivid. I hope it is a long time before we travel in fog as thick
as it was that day. In fact, if I never travel in it, I would not be
at all disappointed.

I like both images, Rose. I often struggle with whether to post the actual "as is" shot, or try to improve it a bit. There's a lot to be said for sharing the "as is."
ReplyDeleteThe first one does capture the feeling of a foggy day.
ReplyDeleteI like them both, Rose, but I tend to go with what comes out of the camera most of the time. I like 'fog' pictures....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
I like the foggy version for its mood, but the vivid one gives us more details and color. I guess it's a matter of personal choice.
ReplyDeleteI like both, but I think I like the top one just a lil better cuz it's a lil more mysterious w/ the fog more present in the scene.
ReplyDeleteAND CHECK OUT THAT HEADER PHOTO! WoW! I love that green & those stormy skies - Can't wait for spring!
I think I like the foggy one, the best.
ReplyDeleteThere is quite a difference in the two pictures. We may have to investigate Photoshop. Although the second picture is more vivid the fog is more obvious in the first.
ReplyDeleteActually, they are both excellent photos of this fading barn. The second one tends to set the fog in perspective...
ReplyDeleteBoth are well done, I like the bottom one the best but as you say the foggy one is the one you will remember. We had fog for several days in Iowa also...........I think spring may be on the way.
ReplyDeleteRose: I actually like the fog in the first photo. They are both so neat.
ReplyDeleteInteresting difference, but I like the first one best!
ReplyDeleteBoth excellent. The second one is almost too perfect--my crazy mind. but the first really sets a mood and then you have the memory of the time too. They are both nice though. MB
ReplyDeleteLorelei is sure a busy one and cute to boot. MB
Definitely a pea soup fog! I like both pictures.
ReplyDeleteI love fog, but I don't like driving in it.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures, both of them. I love barns, nice detail.
I like both, Rose. It depends on what you want the photo to tell. If you want to convey the mood, then the first one does that. If you want to show the barn details, then the second is better.
ReplyDeleteThe fog shot is super...But I don't like driving in it either.
ReplyDeleteI like the top one best. The foggy look just adds something to it.
