Turkey Run views

I thought I would post a couple or three views from Turkey Run....when the kids were young, we used to visit this park fairly regularly.
At that time, we would wade and play and fish in the creek. People swam...nothing was said about it.
Now there are signs prohibiting wading and swimming. I suppose we could still fish, but it would not be as much fun if we couldn't wade.

  1. I remember crossing that suspension bridge as a kid. We always thought that bridge was special. Thanks for bringing back a lot of wonderful memories.

  3. Those are nice photos. It could be due to bacteria counts in the water or likely no one wants to be sued. That's always a shame, because wading and splashing around is fun.

  4. "Turkey Run" sounds a strange name but it does look like an adventurous place - of course verywhere these days adventure has to be "managed"

  5. Fine pictures of this appealing place. Looks like it was barrels of fun in the old days. I especially like the mild color in these shots. Very well done.

  7. Wonderful! I love that bridge. I've never been to Turkey Run (how embarrasing to admit that) Will have to put it on our list of places to go.

  8. Lovely shots. Do you know why they no longer allow swimming? Fear of lawsuits, pollution, what? I don't know anything about the area, but my guess is it's one or the other.

  10. I wonder why! It looks like a great place to swim - I love the stairway going up behind the ROCK there in the last shot - Looks like a cool place to jump off... maybe that's why... someone may have gotten hurt doing that!
