The things you can see on a country drive....

We were headed to Mansfield in a roundabout way when I looked up with surprise and saw this bottle tree...last year I had never heard of them. Then this past March, Carletta of Round the Bend blog posted one....like Carletta, I would like to have one. I wonder if they would make sound in the winds that blow through here. I wonder if Roger wants to make one for me...

  1. Until I read your words and enlarged the photo, I thought that was a Shoe Tree..... But then I realized it was a Bottle Tree... Wonder what happens when the leaves start coming out on that tree (if they do)... ha

  4. Well, today you have added another piece to my knowledge of unessential things. ;-)

Cute. But I'll pass. Hmm...maybe not...it doesn't need to be watered or fertilized...

  5. A very interesting use of blue bottles. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to come up with that many bottles of the same color.

  6. What's their purpose? Or is it just for looks? I like the blue & green bottles they've used - I like those 2 colors together

  7. I hope Roger will make you one so you can let us know if they make a sound when the wind blows.

  9. Yeah, Roger could make you one using different brands of beer bottles. :)

  10. Neal, if it depended on beer bottles from Roger, I would NEVER have one.

  11. I wonder if the 'other color' bottles will be replaced as they find more blue bottles. Just thought that since most are blue.

  12. At first glance, I thought you were showing us a Texas Bluebonnet! Guess I'd better make an appointment for an eye exam!

I've not seen these bottle trees except on a few blogs. I'll bet it's really pretty when the sun is shining through the glass.

  14. I love bottle trees but I've only seen one. This one is really neat. I love the way they made it look like it's growing there.
