While I have the chance...

It is dark almost and the birds are still at the feeders; what is/was strange is that they hardly came yesterday. Usually they come the day before a storm hits. With them staying out there this late, it makes me wonder if really bad weather is coming.
We awoke to an icy world this morn...but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
I eventually got dressed in warm clothes and ventured outside to take a few pictures. I love the one above...it is the 'smoke' on my smoke tree. Makes me think of a crystal chandelier.
I wonder what my dogwood will do when spring comes after this freeze.
I felt like I was risking life and limb getting out...everything is a sheet of ice. You better believe I was careful going down the steps...

The cable has blinked off and on a few times today...so far no more dimming of lights or anything since last night, but thought I would post these while I have the chance.

Beautiful shots! No ice here just blowing and drifting snow.

Wow...be careful out there! I was wondering how much snow and ice you got. We may miss most of it down here....I hope. Love those icy photos, but know how awful it is and worry about the trees breaking.

A fine series of icicle pictures. They decorate the limbs and feeders were well. Nice shots. I hope you okay with the current conditions crossing the country.

Great pictures, Rose, but I know that ice can cause alot of damage. Hope you all didn't lose any trees or lose your electricity....

God Bless.

Hugs,
Betsy

Ice on trees can be very beautiful, as you proved with these pictures. But it can also be very dangerous. I hope you don't have any more trouble with this storm. Stay warm and stay safe.

Oh my goodness! The ice is so pretty but I bet your world is treacherous to walk or drive in!

Very nice, Rose. Thanks for getting out and about and shooting these photos! Glad you didn't hurt yourself...and glad that you didn't get the full brunt of the storm so far.

Sure is pretty (if dangerous!)! Nice captures!

Rose, I know what you mean about having too many hobbies. I have too many too--but painting is very satisfying AND I am painting illos for a book for my new grandson!!!

Cool shots! Looks just like Newtown today before the ice melted this afternoon.
