How would you like this?

We spotted this Sunday...we both did a double take...and I was saying stop, stop, stop! We could not tell if anyone lived there or not. I kind of felt like it might be empty now, but had not been long ago that it was someone's home.

  1. Very interesting. I like the way the tree grows up through the roof. Perhaps it was an older couple who died. Or someone who could no longer make the payments.

We have lots of abandoned places around here.

    Very sad.

  2. For a tree to grow where it did, it has had to be vacant for a very long time. Unless they wanted it to grow there.

  3. A great way to use the tree rather than cutting it down to make room for the porch area. It certainly makes for an eye-catching house.

  5. needs work, but if you have the vision, the money and the stamina, go ahead. Worrisome about those trees though, as if they fall down it will do a pile of damage!!

  6. I'm not sure I'd want to live in this house, but it is interesting that an opening was left in the roof for the trees. I assume this was done when an addition was put onto the original structure.

  7. Oh, I know how this story ends. The tree wins.

  8. We knew someone west of here that had a tree growing thru their main living room & had a natural stream running thru, too! It's crazy... I'd be even more scared of snakes & critters coming in... =)

  9. What a neat find! It appears they built the house around the tree! Cool!

  10. Weird! It looks fairly well cared for so I bet someone lives there at least part time. Must not use that section of the house!
