Gobble, gobble!

I saw these three ladies last week...on back in the edge of the woods were a couple of toms but I could not get a shot of them for all the weeds in front of them. Just in a couple weeks it will be turkey hunting season here...along about the time of morel mushrooms.
*************
We are getting ready to head to Walmart....I have put off going as long as I can. I need to pick some supplies. I hate to think about what my bill will be....but it would be so much worse if not for Walmart. We do not have Meijer near here at all, and really only have a Kmart on the south end of Terre Haute. So it is Walmart for us.

I would not mind the shopping so bad if I didn't have to come home and put everything away!

  2. Hi Rose, Great pictures of the turkeys... They are around here--but we never see them. Think they stay back in the large wooded areas.

Tomorrow is our Walmart day... I know that some people don't like Walmart --but they AT LEAST give us pretty good prices overall on things. But--we don't have a very good Walmart --compared to larger cities...

    Hugs,

  3. I think we would all be lost without Walmart. I like the picture of the turkeys. They had better make themselves scarce with turkey hunting season coming up.

  4. Looks like the Turkey Ladies were on the move. I have the same problem here. The Wild Turkeys are really spooky here.

  5. Good catch!
I've been taking photos for a couple of days of a strutting Tom but he's just a little past my zoom so he's not clear yet. I hope I get a good one soon cause season comes in here too.
I'm exactly like you - putting all the stuff you bring home away is the worse part of a trip to town. :)

  6. I saw a lady turkey today too, by herself. I wondered if she was nesting yet.

  8. It turned into a fine turkey shoot...and before the season! :-) Nice one. I hit Walmart at the off hours to make the crowd less of a problem. Nothing is cheaper around here.
