More from yesterday's drive...

On our way to Goose Pond, we rambled around in the Greene=Sullivan State Forest. It was started with 3,000 acres donated by various coal companies. It now consists of over 9,000 acres and has over 120 lakes.
I don't know why I chose to photograph this one...probably because it was all the dead trees, etc. It had atmosphere.
I bet in warmer weather it is teaming with wildlife...for some reason I imagine lots of turtles here.

We normally have our fishing poles in our vehicle at all times, but had taken them out when we went to Sarah's last weekend and had not put them back in. I regretted that all day long. We did not see near all the lakes, but we sure saw some pretty ones. And lots of them looked like ideal places to fish. I am thinking I will be wanting to head back down there before cold weather hits.
**************
Just a little note here...I bet I spent at least two hours ripping out sewing that I did. It didn't have to be done....but I decided to do something different. I think that is the most ripping out I have ever done.

It rained lightly off and on today, but the sun came out this evening...supposed to be clear the next two or three days but turning cooler next week.

this is a place I would very much like to visit. i could spend days and weeks there with my camera. I meant to say yesterday, when i first saw the name of the pond, i thought it said Google Pond and since I am the Google queen, I thought ALRIGHT

the last thing i sewed was in home economics in 9th grade. I made a dress, with gun held to my temple, and the 3rd time I ripped the zipper out, I ripped the dress into little pieces and got an F of all things for it. i never touched a sewing machine again. my mother was talented at sewing and tried to teach me. that was a big NOT

I like the lake shots. The dead tree shot does have a definite mood about it.

This is a rather sorrowful looking place, yet there is stark beauty in it.

That's a lot of ripping out, Rose! You must be a very patient person.

I bet you are right there are turtles in those lakes.

Enjoyed your photos of swamps. They look very similar to the one's we have nearby.

Thank goodness for seam rippers. Can't live without one!

I agree with you that our granddaughters would have fun together. Our's is a little rock hound too! Coincidentally, her mom (my daughter) name is Sarah too.

There is a lake near my Mom's that reminds me of this. The trees were never cut down and stick out of the water.
I think you made a good decision to take a picture. It's lovely.
