My wisteria has a lot of blooms on it...a LOT. Not that I think that is out of the ordinary...I think it is normal. However, most of mine did not open last year....
A good part of the morning sun is blocked by my crab apple tree...but I think we are about to remedy that. Roger hates the crab apples in the fall...I do not remember the ones on my mom's trees getting very big. The ones on this tree grow to well over an inch in diameter--I would say close to an inch and a half in diameter.
I have mentioned before that it seldom blooms pretty...this year turned out to be an exception. But still I would rather have my wisteria's bloom all open as to have that tree with maybe a chance of pretty blooms. So, we may cut it it down tomorrow. And just maybe the wisteria blooms will open up.

We went for a drive today... I was suffering from 'tiredness' too much to enjoy it. I don't know what is wrong with me. I don't know if it is mental, or hormones off, or just plan laziness. We came home and I sat down here for a few minutes...
I decided to put on the music and start on a project that has been on my mind for longer than I wanted to admit. I started washing down my kitchen cabinets, taking down the knickknacks off the top and washing them as well as the top of the cabinets. I will not describe to you how bad it was, but it was BAD.
I don't know if it was actually doing something that helped, or just listening to music while I worked, but I did get quite a bit done before I stopped for the evening. I did leave my stepladder inside till I will have to look at it till I do the rest of the cabinets. I would like to get them done tomorrow but not sure how that will work out if we cut that tree down.

Oh, and did it turn colder where you are? It was so chilly I had on a fleece jacket today when we were on our drive. We went south and east of where we lived. I figured it would be warmer there, but got back here and it was at least 5, if not 10 degrees warmer here. But it is chilly now. I am wondering what it will do to my wisteria...nothing I am hoping.
Love the wisteria I have never been able to grow. It is cooler here last couple of days and I like it knowing it will be much to warm soon. I am impressed with the knicknack cleaning spurt.
ReplyDeletethat first photos is beautiful. i love wisteria and have not seen it since i left Georgia 28 years ago. i know all about the yuck on top of the cabinets. i used to have things sitting up there, the last time i cleaned them about 10 years ago, i took them all down and never put them back. come on down, the top of mine needs attention NOW>
ReplyDeleteYes, it DID turn colder here. Yesterday was quite chilly and today there's SNOW in the forecast. Hmmm. I like snow but NOT in April.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I get tired simply because I know I have a lot of unfinished projects or I have a lot to do. Doing something sometimes helps.
We cut down a crabapple tree last fall. It was pretty for a few days in spring and then not so nice after that. I wonder how the plants under when it used to stand will fair this year. Hmmm.
I'm so enjoying your wisteria Rose. Yes, we did turn cold, tho yesterday we headed to Iowa and it was pretty nice, a jacket was needed tho when we got outside the van.
ReplyDeleteRose, your wisteria is absolutely beautiful. I know what you mean by tired, but I've noticed that once I get going on something, my energy comes back, and I just love the results! A wonderful man once said, If you are feeling depressed or tired, work! I have depression, so I put that into action and it works!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your chores! Oh by the way it was 90 degrees here. Ack, I'm not quite ready for summer weather yet!
I like the wider view of the wisteria. You did an amazing amount of work when you started from being "tired". Must have been the good music that pepped up you up. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour wisteria is beautiful!!!! I had a problem like yours. I was exhausted all the time and even had to cancel plans and just go and lay down on the bed...I had no energy for anything. Turned out to be an under-active thyroid, it is VERY common in middle aged women. A simple blood test for thyroid function fixes it. Now I take a thyroid pill every morning and am all better!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple color!
ReplyDeleteI've never had Wisteria, but think it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHope you get over your tiredness. I have been sluggish too, but chalk it up to getting older. I've had back aches and other problems lately so I'm sure that contributes to not feeling up to par. I take quite a few meds, and I sometimes think they make one feel tired, too. Take care!
Your wisteria is very pretty and looks lovely against the white wood. My gran had a crab apple tree in her garden and it only gave tiny apples and they were never very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the sun will get to you wisteria now and you will have lovely blooms every year :))
I quite often get tired - maybe it's your body telling you to rest up a wee bit.
