No, it isn't done, but I did get the first round of sewing done on the binding. The first time it is done by machine. I thought I would show a couple pics from the front...
this one is a little bit closer...
then two shots of the back.
Notice it is not just a plain back...it isn't real fancy but it does have a little bit of interest.
I am not sure how these will show up...but you can click to expand the view. It may not seem like much considering this is only about 5 ft in length, but it sure took a lot of sewing. And came close to using a whole spool of thread...a 1000 yard spool.

Another hot one here...over 100º here today. The thermometer actually said 106º at one point...the one that is against the house was even hotter. And the weather station said 102º...very uncomfortable outside. It is overcast and has been all evening, but it doesn't feel like rain when I went outside to take the photos of this quilt.
Hi Rose, You are hotter than we are --but we are hot enough (with 100% humidity).. Yuk!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt... LOVE it... I 'heart' it!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Your quilt is beautiful! Love the pieced back.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting a break from the weather today, but back to 100 by Sat.
Your quilt is beautiful. I'm just sorry that your weather isn't. It was very hot and humid again here today as well.
ReplyDeleteRose that's amazing. Looks like a lot of work and hours went into making that quilt. It is really lovely :))
ReplyDeleteSorry you are still struggling with those hot temps. We have just about forgotten what a hot temp is here.
Take care, hope it cools down for you soon. :))
Speechless.
ReplyDeleteRose, I am speechless! The quilt is fantastic. No. Outstanding!!
You are SO talented.
It's really hot and humid here too. The values were 40 here yesterday which converted is around 104.
This is beautiful! I'm so impressed by your ability to machine quilt your quilts. I like the back. I really should use up fabric on the back of my quilts and piece them. I like how it looks....like you say, it adds a little bit of interest! You have a great eye for colors and placement for scrappy quilts. I really like simple patterns like this. Beautiful! Isn't it great to get near the end of a project??
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful quilt and such lovely detail you put into it. your cat in the post below looked very happy wrapped inside of your new quilt too, :) what a treat to see a rainbow. hope all is well. have a great day~
ReplyDeletealmost forgot... the strip pits are seeing the same toll as our nature preserve. i noticed that the water level in the pond is no where near what it should be. the heat has taken it's toll on everything, sadly. we're about to get some more rain this morning. it's been thundering for a long while now.
The quilt has a beautiful pattern. On a closer view the textures in the different pieces adds another interesting factor. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I totally believe nearly a whole spool of thread was used.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! I really like the pattern and the colors you chose. We had a rainstorm last night which delivered about 4/10th's of an inch. It was mostly welcome, although my brother was combining peas, and they were trying to hay.
ReplyDeleteAnother winner Rose....beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI really love the quilting job you are doing! It DOES take some time to get one quilted, that's for sure! It's gorgeous though...I love it front and back!
ReplyDeleteSorry it's been so hot where you are! Hope you get some relief soon!
