Finished at last!!!!

Just going to show random shots...they were all a little dark and I am not sure why.  I tried to adjust them.  So, just showing some of the better shots.  In the shots here of the front, the red is over-powering but in real life it has a nice balance.
By the way below is the back of it....I always like having a back that is a little different.  Sort of feel like this is a two for one quilt.
These were all taken in the a.m. hours before washing.
I was really worried about the bleeding.....
but threw it in the wash with Shout Color Catchers and all turned out well.
It hung on the clothesline for an hour or two and was almost dry.  I just threw it in the dryer to finish it.  I will take pictures of it later and post one or two of them another day.

The kids are coming so might not be blogging much.

Edited to add...just looked at the photos on Roger's computer and they look pretty much like the quilt looks.  So hope they look as good on yours.

  3. Oh, Rose...this is just stunning! My Grandson says it looks like Fall. I have always loved log cabin quilts, and this is a favorite layout. I love the way you pieced the back and framed each section of quilting. Wow! It's wonderful....I think you said it's a gift. I know the recipient is going to be crazy about it!

Yes, that rose fabric was the one with the actual roses on it, and I took most of the colors for the quilt from it. I hope you find a good project for your piece of it. Thanks for checking my post out!

I cannot think of the right words to express how beautiful this quilt is .... and how talented you are!!
Okay, let's try 'stunning', 'outstanding' and most certainly the word 'awesome' too.
Truly Rose, this will be a treasured heirloom. And I just love how the back is just as wonderful as the front. Clever you.
Oh and the photos don't appear dark at all.
Lastly, thank goodness the red didn't bleed. I bet you were holding your breath when it was in the wash!

With the back done like that it really is two quilts in one.
