Random thoughts....

Time again for Random Five...I had not thought about it till a few minutes ago.  I really admire the people that aren't afraid to say what they are thinking...I always self edit.  Anyway, here are a few of my random thoughts...

1.  The first thing that popped into my mind is that I cannot wait for the weekend because Lorelei is coming to visit.  She has not been here since Labor Day weekend. Even though I took a few things to the family reunion, I still have a little pile of stuff to give her.  we are always seeing little things we think she would like. Any time we think of her and talk about her, we are always laughing.  Her mom got to volunteer at her preschool a few weeks ago.  Now, keep in mind on her very first day of school, she asked her mom if the teachers would like hugs.  Sarah told her she was sure they probably would.

So she absolutely loves preschool.  And her teacher told Sarah she is all about following the rules.  Mrs. W told Sarah it was so cute...she would see Lorelei raise her hand and have such a serious little face.  When Mrs. W asks Lo what she needs..Lo tells her she could sure use a hug!

It is things like this keeps a smile on our face...even through rough times.

2.  It has been a hard, hard month....I hope next month is better.

3.  Even with the hard things, there has been joy, too.

4. I had a decluttering day the other day....I told my husband it pays to declutter.  I was working in my kitchen and found $40!  I first found $20 up in with my cookbooks, Then there was another $20 bill I found.  I was cleaning off my fluorescent light.  It is mounted on the wall...it is a convenient place to set little things that I want to sit out of the way. It was weird, I had ran my dishrag over it and looked down, and there was that $20 and I had not even realized I had picked anything up other than a bit of dust.  And I think I had laid that $20 there a long time ago for something...thinking I would need to grab it to pay something but now I haven't a clue.  So not only did I come out free of some things that were cluttering up my cabinets, I came out $40 richer.

5.  It is past midnight now....I really hope I can remember to link to Random Five when it opens...how's that for my last random thought?

Right now, I think I will go mop my kitchen and clean my bath till I don't have to do it in the morn..

For 7 years I was a preschool teacher. I sure do miss hearing the cute things those little ones ask.. How cool is that to find money while cleaning. Hummm.. I don't think I would get that lucky. I do hope you have a better week ahead.

Hugs~

I wish we could keep some of our innocence like Lorelei's as we get older. So sweet.

Yay for finding $40! That would never happen at my house. :)

I once found a 20 in a purse. it had been there 6 years. when i retired i came home and put my purse on the shelf and never touched it again... i don't use a purse, i only used it to take things to work i might need, i was cleaning out the closet and there it was. also found 2 things i had been looking for and had no idea they were there. L is growing up FAST... hope Oct is a better month for you

Hey, I think I will go clean/declutter my kitchen. Somehow I don't think I will find any money, though. Darn

Lorelei is a cutie. Loved the preschool story. Sometimes it is just all about the hugs. Hope things get better for you next month. Wish I could find some $$ when I declutter!

It is so important to find joy even in difficult times, well said. I love to go on a cleaning spree and then find money, I also like to find unexpected money in the mail, both things make me smile. :)

I'm always finding money in my jeans. But I've never found any cleaning the house. And that won't motivate me now either. LOL

I don't know what has happened to make this a hard month for you.....so sad that I was away from Blogland when you were going through something hard for you. Glad you can look for the bright side of things to keep your chin up. Thanks for saying you would miss my blog if I went away for good. I won't let them chase me away for good....next time, I'll just start a new blog. But first I'll have to copy all your blogs down so I can find you all!!! Great set of five....my granddaughter and yours would be perfect together. Mine has loved school, too. And she also hugs her teacher. I told my hubby that we had done good helping to raise her the first five years. She obeys the teacher and is always trying to help others....so the teacher said in a note to her mom. Makes us proud, doesn't it? There is hope for the world as long as there are children like these!

Lorelei is a beautiful little girl! And she sounds like a serious, good student! That's great. :)

Decluttering is an excellent thing to do. What a load off one's mind. And even better if we find extra money like you did!

I hope things are going better with Roger now. I would dust my cabinets every day if I thought I might find money while doing it!
