Random 5

It is time for Friday's Random 5...I have remembered it two weeks in a row now!

I don't know how everyone else does their Random 5...but I use random thoughts from the week.  I have to write them down, or else I forget them. So sometimes I have them already to paste into blogger, others I have to think of one or two.  Today, I have them all, plus a bonus!

 1.  One positive thing about winter for me, it makes it easier for me to stay inside and sew.  When it is nice outside, I like to be out, or at least upstairs where I can see the sunshine.  I keep thinking I need to have a sewing table to set up on the porch so I can sew outside in nicer weather.

2.  I have problems remembering things fully.  I remember just enough bits and pieces of things to drive myself crazy trying to remember the whole story.

3.  I had a lot of nicknames when I was in grade school.  Two I will not tell.  The rest I loved and was right proud of...Spider, Cricket, Roadrunner, Briar Patch.  Not sure what that says about me that I loved them...but I did.  I suppose it was who gave them to me that made me like them....though I am not really sure who started the thing of calling me Roadrunner.  But it was because I made a made dash out the door, soon as we were dismissed from school of the evening.

4.  Can I say that I am having a real hard time making myself do anything.  Not even things I want to do.  Whether it is things I just want to do or things I need to do, there are so many I have a hard time making a decision what I want to do first.

5.  I always either watch something on Netflix or something from YouTube...almost every single night.  In fact, I usually watch till I fall asleep while watching.  If I watch Netflix, it is usually some mystery with British characters...or an episode of All Creatures Great and Small.  If I watch YouTube, it is quilt related videos 90% of the time.

Bonus:  Roger still calls Lorelei 'the baby' when talking about her.  I told him the other day, by the time she is 16, she is not going to like being called the baby.  But in reality, knowing her and her love for her Papaw, she probably won't mind it coming from him.

I love your picture! I have the same kind of remembering problem that you do! I know there is something, just enough to drive me crazy!

One of my sweetest memories is of my mother taking her sewing machine out onto the patio during the summers and making my school dresses there.

Ditto for me on the memory stuff. Do you go in a room to get something and then forget what you were there for? Happens to me all the time.

That photo is perfectly composed, and framed by the tree. And such beautiful fall foliage! I have a lot of random thoughts too, that I never share, and my memory isn't what it used to be either!

Hi Rose, I was just thinking that I'm also having a hard time getting going these days. I was just up in the studio last night looking at all of the projects on the go thinking I really don't know where to start...lol. By the way, I still call my 33 yr old son baby...he deals. :) Hope your weekend is shaping up to be lovely.

My youngest Grand son is now 13 and he was called 'baby' for the longest time. In fact his Mother still calls him that. He just rolls his eyes.
Oh I just detest that forgetting or partial remembering. Grrrrr....!

I think trees with yellow leaves are my favorite autumn. At least until I see one with red leaves. It is such a beautiful time of year.

I love Creatures Great and Small books by James Herriot! I have never watched the show though - maybe I will this winter.

I tend to do things I want before I do things I need to do. ;) Lol.

I never had a nickname growing up... I think it's because I was rather shy and didn't attract much attention. :)

Gorgeous photo in your post.
I sometimes write down my R5F thoughts from the week as well.
I had nicknames from my brothers (fatty rear and pug nose) weren't they sweet brothers!
I have a hard time getting anything done when I get interrupted a lot.
Oh those names grandparents and parents give us. My dad always called me his little girl even up till the day he passed away.

My youngest son is 41--and he's still my BABY…. ha

You better be careful. Neal will spill the beans about your nicknames!!!! ha ha

I love winter also since I have more time to work on my Family History.

Hugs,
Betsy

I enjoyed reading these Random 5s, but I'm going to have to ask Neal about those two nicknames. Your photo is gorgeous.

Wonderful photo!
My memory comes and goes as it pleases, too.
I try not to worry about it so much!

I will be sad to see fall come to an end. It has been a beautiful one. I have been saving lots of indoor projects for this winter.

Hahaa well you are ahead of me, I usually remember NOTHING, just that I was supposed to remember SOMETHING - & that is irritating!

Beautiful photo!

If I can remember (!) perhaps I'll start keeping track of my random thoughts through the week and join in some time.

I certainly relate to #4.

You mentioned watching quilting videos on YouTube. I ran across this channel https://www.youtube.com/user/Justhandsontv a few days ago. I have never quilted, but it looked interesting to me, particularly this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNoZXjt_Ay0

I think that when I have too many things on my mind that I want to do...is when I forget things the most. It is because I am not fully concentrating on the moment at hand...my mind is racing ahead too much! :)

I really enjoy reading your random fives. I have trouble making myself do things, too. I think it is age related :-) I was going to sew tonight....instead I have set here at the computer. I like your nicknames :-) I never had one and never wanted one for some reason. I guess because I heard too many nicknames, that I would not have wanted to have. I embarrass too easily and never wanted attention drawn to myself.
