Ready to be quilted...

I made this top back in 2007...I decided it was time to start quilting some of the tops I have made.  It is close to twin size....I forget the width but it is 78 inches long.

I spent almost the entire evening getting this baby ready. The time I got done crawling around and getting things stretched out, and then on my knees and elbows as I pin basted...I bet I will have rug burns tomorrow.

I did take frequent breaks...I had to because I had potato soup cooking and wanted to make sure I didn't let it boil down and burn

I wish I could say I would start quilting right away, but not too sure of the thread situation.  and I have no idea how I want to quilt it...I am consitdering just some straight lines.

We had rain, freezing rain, and snow today.  It is supposed to get up to 40º tomorrow, and I an hoping it reaches that at least..

  1. Great quilt. Straight lines will look good (and will be nice and easy to do). LOL rug burns is why I got my frame...although with my hard floors it was more like rug bruises.

  2. It's pretty Rose, I love the colors, tho I am partial to browns. I have a couple that need to be quilted and one that I'm still working on after about 3 years.
We got about 5 inches here Jim had to plow the drive a couple of times, we are supposed to be in the 40's as well the next couple of days.

  3. An Art I appreciate . . . amazing your final piece will be. My mother quilted her first piece in her seventies and I am thrilled to have her pieces.

Nice day here and much warmer. We did get some rain after dark. But--it's supposed to be sunny and warm tomorrow. Gotta love it.

  5. Very pretty. I kinda envy you quilters but knowing how hard it is and how much time it takes I really know I may wish I could but know I won't. I admit I am lazy.

The computer--notice I didn't say 'my computer' has been down or offline all day and I finally got through to the server just about 10 minutes ago and now all is GOOD. Thank goodness.

  10. That quilt is really pretty! I hope the warm temperatures get to you. We got better than what was predicted, but the nice week we were going to have has been changed. Again. Thursday is scheduled for a "potential blizzard" over here. Maybe they'll change their minds.
