Where to start?

I am not sure I am ready to start blogging regularly again.  Not even sure where to begin.  Our oldest daughter has surgery in early April....Sarah, Tootie, and I spend almost the entire month of April in California.  And I did not even take my camera...and though I missed it, it was a good decision.

I actually got back here to home in the wee hours of April 30th and for the life of me I cannot get rested.  Just weary from morning till night.  I am feeling like that tired old barn above.

That being said, daughter is still recovering from her surgery...she has come a long way since she had it, but still has a while to go before she feels normal.  With that being said, we did manage to have some good times, and Lorelei was her usual entertaining self.

I cannot remember half the stuff she said there...I think that she had one of her finest days just a few days before we went to California.  I was not present when this happened...but can imagine it real easy.  Sarah calls it her first 'Dot' moment...do you know who Dot is.  Watch the following video...Dot was a character played by Stephnie Weir on Mad TV....I had never heard of her till Sarah showed me this video and another one...

Well, Lorelei's first Dot moment went something like this....

They were sitting at the dinner table having a meal.  Lorelei was kicking the leg of the table.  Jeremy told her to stop.  So she paused a minute and then started kicking the other leg.  I don't recall what Jeremy started to say...or if he said anything...

Lorelei said, 'This leg is listening' as she pointed at her right leg...then she pointed at her left leg and said this one isn't.  Then she proceeded to bend down and look under the table yelling at her leg to stop it!  I think Sarah lost it and Jeremy could only shake his head!

  2. Happy to hear you are home and that your daughter is on the road to recovery after her op. I'm sure it's going to take you a while to destress as one needs to do after something like this. We don't even realize until afterwards how tiring we can get, until things start returning to normal. That sweet granddaughter of yours, I adored that conversation. I think I would have lost it too. Thanks for sharing it, I am still smiling.

  6. a month away from home is why you are exhausted and stress from the surgery even though you had fun with your family. it will take time to rest up... plus you got to spend all that time with L...

  7. That little girl is a character! Glad to see you back, I imagine it will take awhile for you to get back to normal. Your tension and stress worrying about your daughter and all the traveling take a toll. Give it time, you will feel better.

    Been thinking of you!

  9. Welcome Back... I had no idea you were gone --and I had no idea that your daughter had surgery. What kind of surgery? Bless her heart--and prayers for her...

Bet you did have a good time with both daughters and the 'Toot'...

I am having gallbladder surgery on Thursday... Fun Fun.
    Hugs,

  10. Glad you are home again. I never heard of Dot before but that video was funny! Lorelei is one entertaining little girl!

I'm not surprised you're exhausted after spending a month out in California. The time difference is a killer when coming back here. I always have a difficult time readjusting after we've been to AZ.

Will keep your oldest daughter in my prayers. Glad to hear she is making progress.
