This is another Hoosier Homestead Farm, one that has been owned by the same family for a hundred years or more. We noticed the sign for the first time when we were by it a couple weeks ago. We have seen the place before, but I did not remember the sign.

We had rain all yesterday afternoon and evening, and it is overcast again today. No rain in the predictions, but it looks as if it could rain at any moment.
I finished the quilting on my quilt yesterday, but still have the binding to put on. At least I have it made. I really made a mess of the quilting. It is just too much for the quilt. I should have went with straight lines which was my first thoughts on it. However, it served the purpose of letting me experiment with quilting so not a total loss. Will keep someone warm when it is cold once it is finished.
cute little house and i am wondering if the floor inside is level, noticed how it steps down every foot on the outside.. any quilts you don't want send them on... straight or not straight..
ReplyDeleteI would be proud to have one of your quilts and I am sure that whoever receives it will love it and won't see the messed up look that you do. Love the old house.
ReplyDeleteThe Hoosier Homestead is a remarkable looking place for its style and construction techniques.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful old homestead building! So glad you finished your quilt! I know what you mean about doing the quilting. I always feel like mine is so rough! You see gorgeous photos of quilting on Pinterest, and I would bet 95% of those are done with a longarm! :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think that the binding is my favorite part. So close to being done and it always finishes it off so nicely. The purpose of a quilt really is to keep us warm so I think that yours will be fine.
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool homestead.
Is someone living in it now? It looks almost new and is in very good shape.
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' this!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd to catch up while I was on blogging hiatus...my goodness...would you look at the size of that watermelon? [post below this one]
Unique little homestead. It reminds me of the house that is still standing in Illinois where my grandmother was born and raised. It's been modernized, however.
ReplyDeletelove the homestead photo and any quilt that is home made with love cannot be a mess!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI like this, but I'm wondering what it looks like at night with those decorative lights turned on!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cozy home this had to have been.
ReplyDeleteooo...I want to take a peek at your quilt.
I'm sorry you're not pleased with your quilting. But I'm sure someone else will find it very nice.
