Or maybe they are hunting for crawdads...Roger spotted one and stopped to let me get out to take photos. While I was snapping the one in the creek, the other one wondered out. This was at a little creek near the strip pits we go to.
We have had storms moving through as I type this...not as bad as they looked like they would be on radar. I am glad of that.
Not much going on in our world, and that is a good thing. Peace and calm is always good. Now if I could just get motivated to finish some quilting/sewing projects. I have the desire to be done, just not sure how to proceed on a couple things. It's one of those decision things of not know what I want to do as opposed to not knowing how to do something.
Next week we are supposed to have some cooler weather and days that are not so humid. I am really looking forward to a few days like that.
If you find any of that quilting motivation would you mind sending me some...thank you. ;o)
ReplyDeleteWe've been having some cooler temps today and I've been knitting up a storm today :) I need to get down in the sewing room to do some quilting. Great shot of the racoons.
ReplyDeleteThose little masked bandits know good food! Love them craw dads outta the creek.
ReplyDeleteCheri
Well call crawdads, 'crayfish'. There are some we've seen that appear to be as big as small lobsters. Lucy has been having fun chasing after them. Fortunately, they are much faster than she is!

ReplyDeleteOoops …a nasty storm ripping through here and has caused my computer to post extra comments that I can't delete.
ReplyDeleteSorry Rose.
This brings back good memories. It's fun to catch crawdads with a piece of bacon on the end of a fishing line. They just clamp onto it and you pull them out. We just let them go back in. Funny creatures.
ReplyDeleteNeat photo opportunity.
ReplyDeleteCooler weather will be great for your quilting projects.
They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteMy quilting motivation came and went! I love the raccoons, as their faces are so unique.
ReplyDeleteCute photos of the raccoons. I'm glad Roger stopped to let you get the photo.
ReplyDeleteA huge storm hit us last night. We lost power for10 hours but I was asleep for most of them. :))
that cool spell that you are going to get is going to stop in GA and not come here. we were so disappointed. these coons are so cute... did not know you have crawdads there. we had them in the creeks in KY when i was a child...yesterday moring at 6:20 am we were driving home from the YMCA and saw 3 coyotes run in front of our car. they were moving fast.
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo although I have never heard of crawdads, maybe they are like crawfish?
ReplyDeleteYour weather is just like ours!! We have been having a heat wave, now it is storming. And in a day or two, temps will be in the mid to lower seventies, yay! The raccoons are so cute! Isn't the fancy name for Crawdads Langostines? I saw that once on a cooking show.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun photo this is. It's been really hot here for the last few days and thunderstorms are on the way tonight.
ReplyDeleteMust have been hot and thirsty to venture out in daylight
ReplyDeleteThey love the night hours, don't they?
That is just darling. They are so cute. I like them much better in the wild then stealing cat food off the front porch.
ReplyDeleteCute capture!
