At loose ends
Do you ever have days where you know you need to be busy but you just can't decide what to do. Or where to start? What do you do when you are that way? I have been that way all week. Cannot decide what I want to start on...some things I need to do but just don't feel like starting for one reason or another.
I can't even decide what to sew. I made a couple sawtooth star quilt blocks. I thought I would make them into potholders, but they are so pretty, I am having trouble doing that even. Yet they are not the size I would want if I were to make them for a quilt.

i am that way every day now that i am retired, i have become a TV watcher, a book reader and a blogger and a play in picmonkey person and the rest of the stuff has gone by the way side.
ReplyDeleteI always think I could clean house, but who wants to do that.....I'm quickly distracted into writing or calling a friend to go to lunch, maybe a bit of shopping. And there are always places looking for volunteers. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean!! There's the need to do list and the want to do list, oh yeah, and the have to do list, and the should to do list. Where to start! Lol!
ReplyDeleteI better get off my butt and start looking at those lists! :)
Cheri
You are between a rock and a hard place....let's see. I think you should go ahead and use them as potholders.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Don, the pot holders and those are such pretty squares. I also love your flooring :)
ReplyDeleteI get like that too, more often than not. I just go and fix myself a nice cup of hot tea :)
They'd make lovely potholders. Thing Christmas presents.
ReplyDeleteI have many days when I want to do something but I cannot decide---maybe for me it is lack of motivation. Who knows. MB
I would make more similar ones, because these are GORGEOUS! Then you could use them for a border for a quilt that has those colors.
ReplyDeleteHang them up in the kitchen for decorative potholders!! You could hang these on a diagonal and they would look so pretty and bring a splash of color. For decoration only. Then use old ones for hot pans.
ReplyDeleteI love both blocks- they would make great potholders, but you are right..too pretty for that.
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am, I am that way most of the time lately, it seems! There is so much to get caught up on since we returned home and I just don't have the energy for it. I want to sit and edit photos from the trip but even that gets old pretty quick! I did force myself to get through the mail and get the bills paid, however. :D
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt pieces, particularly the one on the left. How about making them into pockets on an apron?
Lindy
I start cleaning when I feel like that or re-arranging things or something mundane like cutting up scraps.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are pretty...how about candle mats or small table toppers - get a head start on Xmas gifts.
Your blocks are gorgeous! Make more.
ReplyDeleteWhen I don't feel terribly motivated--mostly because I am hoping tired--I try to find something mindless to do. And something I can do with my feet up.
Beautiful fall colours, Rose. Make them into potholders but hang them somewhere for decorations for a while to enjoy them before they get dirty.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot days like that! The quilt/potholder squares are really pretty.
ReplyDeleteAhhh--they are beautiful. I believe they should be in a quilt instead of pot holders..
ReplyDeleteI have days like you had.. I start one thing, then change to another, and another.... Feel like I don't get anything at all done... Oh Well.
Hugs,
Betsy
