I almost forgot that it is time for Willy-Nilly Friday 5....and really want to join this time as I may not get to for a couple weeks.
1. Lorelei and her mom will be coming for a couple weeks...we will be keeping Lorelei while her mom goes to training. While she is here, not sure how much blogging I will be doing.
2. I can just hear Lorelei's voice and my day improves. Honestly.
3. I don't know why, but tugboats and barges fascinate me. As well as the big rivers...we have the Wabash flowing close to us, but next to the Ohio and the Mississippi, it is so small. This tugboat was on the Ohio River.
4. I have started the book A Wilder Rose by Susan Wittig Albert. I think I am going to enjoy it. It seems as I get older, I have a harder time finding a book that really draws me in.
5. I did absolutely nothing today. Not one single thing did I accomplish. I seldom have a day where I don't do something, and I suffer a lot of guilt when I don't do something. I just always like to feel I accomplish something, even if it is doing laundry. But when that is all I do, I still feel like I haven't done enough. How are you with doing nothing?
Linking to Willy Nilly Friday 5...so thankful to have it to link to. I just love reading everyone's thoughts.
What a beautiful day to be on the water!
ReplyDeleteI love the triple decker tugboat, is is so cool! What kind of training??
ReplyDeleteHi Rose,
ReplyDeleteNow that a tug and barge! I always like to see them. Tom The Backroads Traveller
I think that women just feel guilty for something no matter what! :)
ReplyDeleteNot long ago I read A Wilder Rose and enjoyed it. It gave me info on Laura Ingalls Wilder that I never knew. Hope you have a great time with that precious little girl.
ReplyDeletei think that any one with the name Lorelei would be just too much for words. that face is just too priceless. what fun! i love the tug boat. makes me think of the ones you played with as a kid in the bathtub. ha. ha!!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your weekend!! have a ball. ( :
I've never read A Wilder Rose. Hmmm. I will look for it in my library.
ReplyDeleteDo you consider reading a book doing nothing? I don't. :))
Barge? Seems like a peaceful way of life . . . yep, thanks to you, i can see beauty in it . .
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
I enjoyed reading these and smiled at No. 2. As for No. 5 well I used to feel guilty but once I hit 60 feelings changed. I still enjoy keeping busy but if I have a quiet day and don't get much accomplished, I go "myeh"' always tomorrow, lol.
ReplyDeleteI do like Tug boats. they are fascinating and the work they do is so interesting.
ReplyDeleteI have days when I seem to do absolutely nothing and I do feel guilty. MB
I really like the tug boat pictures. As for doing nothing...I'm not good at that. I must be busy most of the time. What I do may not be significant, but I fill my day that way.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought it would be a cool job to be working on a tug boat. I understand they have long times out, but also long times back on shore.
ReplyDeleteoh enjoy your visit! i like watching the barges too, it's something we don't see a lot...i too feel guilty when i don't do anything! we shouldn't feel that way! your photos are so bright, nice to see since our day here is grey and rainy...i'm so glad you joined in! have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteHi There, I love tugboats and ships on the big rivers... When we were in Texas, we rode the ferry across the Houston Ship Channel. There were lots of big ships going from the gulf into Houston---and I loved watching them.
ReplyDeleteYou will enjoy having Lorelei and her Mom for a couple of weeks. I know that Lorelei will enjoy being there.
I guess it's good for us on occasion to have a 'do nothing' day..... Congrats.
Hugs,
Betsy
Sometimes doing nothing is just the thing you need :)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a day just to goof off. I think I'm having mine today! heehee! Love your photos...what amazing boats! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat is what I did today...nothing...and...it is like a treat I give myself. Love seeing the big boats...they are amazing to watch. I only see the big ones when I drive over to the great lakes. Enjoy your time with Lorelei...I am sure she is excited to be coming for a visit.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the Tugboat and Barge. Such a pretty river area.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading and am now reading a book that I will be reviewing on my blog as soon as I finish it. It's about an Amish couples courtship.
That will be so fun for you to spend time with your little granddaughter, she's a cutie.
I don't mind a day doing nothing once in awhile. - Which by the way you accomplished a nice post and that is something good.
I've read A Wilder Rose and enjoyed it very much. Reading is doing something, right? I think so!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with Lorelei and her mom!
I start most days with a "to do" list, but sometimes get carried away with some silly thing that does not amount to much. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteNice willy nilly Fri 5...don't know why I didn't see it before!
