I could not hold my camera steady enough to not get the blur.  But you can still tell it is our Lorelei.  Yesterday was her school program...they sang several songs, most I had never heard.  But let me tell you, their music teacher did a wonderful job with them.  One of the first graders even came to the microphone and introduced all the songs, except one.  A couple of the songs had motions they were to do and it was just so cute to watch.  We all stood there with huge grins on our faces.
I took this when we got home but she would not stand still long enough for me to get a good shot of her.  After the program, we went and had pizza, then back to Sarah's and stayed till well after dark...neither of us is crazy about driving after dark now.  So most of the time we are in by then.  Occasionally I will be after dark getting home from the strip pits but that is usually it.

Tomorrow is Friday and I think of random thoughts for Friday.  With that thought in mind here goes.

1.  Christmas is coming, and coming fast.  I need to find the ham and start getting in the things I need.  We have at least got most of Lorelei's Christmas in, but it is not wrapped.  We had to return something today, and did some more shopping.  If I wasn't already worn out, I would have wrapped some/all of it tonight.

2.  We are having more dark, dreary days than we are sunshine.  I am ready for a day or two of nothing but sun and blue skies.

3.  I finished the book I was reading in last Friday's random thoughts and hated to see it end.  I am not sure what I want to start next.  I am half way in the mood to read an old favorite.  How about you--do you have a few books that you have read more than once?  If so, tell me the title/author of some of them.

4.  I have not sewn a stitch the past few days.  I am having withdrawal symptoms.  I am hoping to either go in there and sew later tonight or maybe get up and sew some tomorrow.  Even just a few lines would be good.  Right now my feet hurt so bad that I don't even want to stand up on them to walk in there.  LOL

5.  Have any of you been watching History Channel's Christmas through the decades?  We really enjoy watching things like this.  The two we have seen brought back a lot of memories.

And I have to add this:

Is there anyone that hears that music that doesn't get a smile on their face?  I had never hear it in its entirety till day before yesterday.

  1. Lorelei's Christmas program outfit is so pretty. I know you enjoyed the program very much. I told John about the Alaska book you just finished...I think he would like that. I went to the vet to buy food and the grocery store today and my feet hurt too!
Hope you get some sunshine and a chance to sew soon!

  2. I have to agree, Lorelei's holiday attire is very pretty! I don't know who enjoys the children's programs more - the kids themselves or the families attending. :-)

Yes, it has been very dreary of late. Sounds like Friday and Saturday are to be sunny, and the weekend is to be in the 50s.

The only book I have been reading (since June) is 'Unbroken.' A friend loaned it to me and with all the stuff we have had going on since then, I have not had a chance to finish it. It was tough getting going on it but once the main story line began, it is hard to put down, yet I haven't finished it. I love nonfiction and this book tells of a supporting character who was a U.S. soldier who was a prisoner of war during WW II. After the war, he became a teacher in our high school. His future wife was my English teacher when I was in 9th grade. None of us had any idea at the time that he had been a POW. Didn't know it until the book came out last year.

Hope you enjoy your weekend and can get out and do something enjoyable!

  7. This post did my heart good Rose. Lorelei is such a sweet little girl. It must have been a proud moment to see her up on stage. As far as getting ready for Christmas, I don't have much to do, reasons of which I will explain later.

  8. Lucky Lorelei and her class to have a talented music teacher! Lorelei appears to be really focusing on the teacher and the music.

Hope you're getting some sewing in today!

  11. Wonderful to see Lorelei and such a serious look on her face. The grade school music teachers do an excellent job in my opinion.
I love to read and have been going through books like crazy. I have always liked having a book in my hand but when I got my tablet it already had Kindle on it so I got a few books and I love it. I never thought I would say that. My daughter Richelle brings me books and know they are good but I don't seem to pick them up to read. I am glad you sewed several lines and I know you will get back to it sooner or later.
