I had made this experimental pineapple block...and it has laid in there in drawer for a few months. I wanted to sew, but couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to sew. So I pulled it out and made this potholder.
Then, still being in the mood to sew, I did another potholder:
It is one of a kind...I drew the chicken and I don't think I kept the pattern. But I should look and see if I can find the paper from the fusible. Now that it is made, I am not happy with the hen fabric....but, it was still sort of fun to make. For it's back I used denim from a heavy pair of jeans. It isn't much but it soothes the soul to sew a little bit.
Lindos, belos trabalhos.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.
I feel kind of at odds with myself if I don't have a project of some kind going on. Right now I am crocheting boot cuffs, but still itching to get back to hand embroidery.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. A little bit of sewing always soothes the soul.
ReplyDeletei love that chicken pot holder. i wish i could sew..
ReplyDeleteI have a similar pot holder (?) like the first one . I got 2 in a swap. She called them 'Mug Rug' but they are the size of a pot holder but too thin for one. Nicely quilted. the Chicken one is nice and farmy.

Pretty pot holders. How I wish I have the patience to sew these. I only do simple sewing.
ReplyDeleteThe chicken fabric is just fine. I love the idea of denim for the back.
ReplyDeleteIronically just this week I came across my book of potholder patterns and marked it down for my retirement projects.
I love these. My grandma taught me to sew and it always gave me great pleasure. I have essential tremor in my hands/upper torso now so I can't sew, but I still love to look at fabrics!
ReplyDeleteit does sooth the soul. I love it , it calms and relaxes you, Tommy doesn't understand and asks me why do you do that all the time?
ReplyDeleteYour pot holders are just the cutest ever. These last days I have been making pin cushions and having the best time. I can do them entirely by hand here in the bed.
ReplyDeletei love the hen. so cute. you are so talented. are those design difficult? i wonder if a 1st timer could do that? my MIL allowed me to borrow a sewing machine ... she has like 6 of them. i wonder? ( :
ReplyDeleteOh these are so cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Rose,
ReplyDeleteThey are both very pretty - nice work.
Have a Great Weekend!
Peace :)
I like the colours in the pineapple block and I very much like the hen potholder. I would be afraid to use them and get them dirty!
