This was an experiment from start to finish. Ricky Tims showed how to make this 'flower' on Simply Quilts a long time ago. Most of you have probably never heard of Ricky Tims...he is a well known quilter and teacher. To see some his work I just googled his name and clicked on images....here.
I played with quilting....I guess you could say I was doodling with my needle instead of an ink pen.
I like it better in person than in these pics...
I still have to do something to finish the edges and then it is done...
Wow! Great job. I really like the leaves in your third picture. Looks like it was fun to quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove this!! You are so creative and talented Rose. In my mind, I can see three of these little beauties, individually framed and hanging on a wall. They'd look good in the bedroom with the Lotus quilt!!
ReplyDeleteVery creative and interesting. Artistic!
ReplyDeleteI like it! Very artsy!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and the quilting circles ...
ReplyDeleteGoodness Rose, that looks such a difficult task to complete but it's gorgeous. Seeing it come together must be such a satisfying feeling, especially coming out as well as this. I am always impressed with your skills.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out very pretty Rose.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You've done a wonderful job, Rose.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI wrote about this in the entry below with all of your “naughty” doodles. I love your creativity with this wall hanging. It is going to be precious when it is finished. You are so very talented. Great colors in this piece.
ReplyDeleteVery clever and artsy. Fun to experiment. Maybe next time more daring. LOL

Oh I love it in pics. But I can't see it in person LOL. I know who Ricky Tims is. Actually my quild had him do a shop many moons ago!
ReplyDeleteI love this piece. Your quilting is fabulous. I don't have working machine that I can FMQ right now. I want to do pebbles soooo bad!
Thanks for sharing your lovely piece.
Have a good weekend!
Wow, so pretty and artistic! I love the colors! The central background colors (when looking at the first image) remind me of log cabin siding. :-)
