A good update...

We are all resting a little easier around here....had a few rough days, but Roger is finally feeling basically normal again.  We still don't know what it was.  I ended up taking him to the Emergency Room Friday...they put an IV in and gave him fluids, gave him morphine for pain, and zofran for the nausea.

His blood didn't show anything wrong, tested negative for flu;  they did chest x-rays, urine sample, and EKG.....and nothing showed.  He still felt bad all day Saturday. Stayed in bed almost all day.  Yesterday, he got up and stayed up but felt bad still.

All through this he has talked about feeling there terrible fears, and sense of dread.  One of the nurses said that this is sort of normal after having something so traumatic as the stroke.

Anyway, I want to thank everyone for their prayers.  Not sure how much blogging I will do but I did want to do this update.  I thought about doing it last night but was half afraid he would wake up feeling terrible again.

  1. Oh Rose, I do hope and pray that Roger gets to feeling better. I imagine after having a stroke, there is a real fear every time you get a funny feeling. I am so sorry. I will be thinking about you both, and little sweet Lorelei too. You take care. Love, Henny

  5. How wonderful, an answer to prayers! I am so happy that all the tests were negative! Maybe it was partly a panic attack? Well, he has been so traumatized. I know this is a huge load off your mind.

  6. glad he is better, but I'm keeping him in my prayers. Terry had a day of BP 65/45/123 and felt tired and dizzy. happens every now and then and is scary. Try to get some rest. I know how stressed you were.

  8. this is good news, and I pray now tht he will continue to feel better each day and that the sense of dread will leave him... I have known that feeling in the past and it is awful, not for myself but for my husband

  10. I'm glad things are better. I think that one tends to ponder the worst scenario when going through traumas, but glad it came out better than he feared. Take care.

  15. Glad to hear that he's feeling better. The sense of dread is probably just the result of having been shocked to have found himself so ill. Best wishes to you both.
