Thankful Thursday....

This has probably been mentioned before, but I am so thankful for digital photography!  I hope everyone gets even half as much joy from their photos as I do from mine.  There is seldom a week goes by that I don't get started looking for one photo, and end up getting totally lost in the archives.

Remembering times when Lorelei was here and how she loved this or that.   Watering the flowers and the garden...blowing bubbles, going for rides on 4-wheeler with papaw.

Or  remembering drives we have taken...animals we have seen.  Those perfect days when the sky is so blue that it almost hurts to look at.  Making you almost catch your breath with the joy of being alive.

Linking to Thankful Thursday.

BTW, the photo is from 2012.  I ran across it while looking for pictures of hibiscus....

  1. Well she is your little Hibiscus. LOL
    I am also thankful everyday.
Do you find a picture you were looking for and then get carried away looking at others and then forget where the picture you wanted went??? I do.

  2. A face full of the joy of life! I could tell she is a bit younger here, because she has grown so much.

  8. I love digital as well. But they seem to be all over the place, just like the shoe boxes of pictures we have accumulated in the past 45 years. I'm not too great about organizing pictures.

Have a happy and safe holiday.

  12. Doesn't that picture of Lorelei just touch your heart. She is one adorable little girl. She looks pretty in white. The way you post about Lorelei reminds me so much of how I felt (and still feel) about my granddaughter Madison. She was just so very sweet and lovable, and loved being with me. She would say, "Grandma, you're beautiful". She would come for the weekend and on Sunday when her mom would get here to pick her up, I would say excitedly, Madison, your mom is here. Madison would run into the bedroom and hide. Madison is in college now. I'm glad you enjoy every minute you have with that sweet little Lorelei.

  13. She's adorable ---and gets prettier every day!!!!! What a CUTIE.

I too love my photography... I have a good friend who travels quite a bit --but they seldom take pictures (or when they do they don't ever look at them or organize them).... I'm not sure I'd want to travel without my camera... It's such joy to go back into my past photos and re-live those memories.... Love it!!!!

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  14. First off, that;s a lovely picture. I can relate to getting into the older pictures and going on a trip down memory lane. For me, having lost my husband,I find great comfort and joy in looking through the pictures he took.

  15. What a joyful photo to revisit. Your times with this little charmer remind me of my years playing with my grand-daughter. I miss her now she is at boarding school. Like you, I'm so glad I have archives I can visit when I feel her absence.

  17. Oh my gosh- she is growing up so fast- I think I remember seeing a pic of her at this age on your blog. Mine are growing like weeds- the oldest is off to college this fall- the youngest starting kindergarden. Wow- time flies.
