I think most people know this is the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri...it stands 630 ft. tall...we passed by it when there but did not attempt to go up. I don't know why, but it did not even cross my mind. Daughter just took us down to the area because she works near it.
This is one of the churches we passed...beautiful, impressive churches were everywhere, but I did not get any good photos...
Another shot, not so good...but you get the idea.
I hope to post another one or two in the days to come....
My son lived in St Louis for a short time and when we visited we went up in the arch. Great view from up there.
ReplyDelete...a place that I've never been to.
ReplyDeleteNever been but glad you got to visit

I've never been but I remember my dad traveled there for his work and went up in the arch. Beautiful photos from your visit.
ReplyDeleteI must be the only one who does not know about this arch, and have never heard of it! No matter, now I DO! I like that church with the clock, I have never seen a church with a clock tower!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful churches. Isn't it frustrating when you see a really good shot, but have so much around that distracts from it?
ReplyDeletemy brother and his family lived 5 years within sight of that arch.. they left Savannah and went there because of a new job.. their driveway was so steep in winter they had to park on the street, could not drive up it due to ice/snow.. it is hard to get good photos in a busy city...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gateway arch and beautiful churches. A great place to visit.

I have never been to St. Louis. Every single member of my family has been there. Terry was a truck driver and drove there regularly. My daughter took my grandsons there for a Jujitsu competition. Yes, they went into the arch. I never get to go ANYWHERE, boo hoo. LOL

Glad to see you all doing some traveling... How does your daughter like St. Louis? We have been through there several times while traveling west.... I know that there is a lot of racial tension there --which is kinda scary.... BUT--that's true in a lot of big cities....
ReplyDeleteHave fun.
Hugs,
Betsy
We lived in St. Louis for awhile so we've been up in the Arch several times. But, it has been quite a while since we visited there. Hope you are having a great time. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have driven through St Louis so many times, but never went up in the arch. I bet it would be an awesome view in autumn.
ReplyDeleteGreat views around St. Louis Rose. I have never seen the Arch from that angle before. I love it! Happy traveling :)
ReplyDeleteI knew where you were as soon as I saw that first pic! It's been many, many years but I have been up in the Arch. It was fun to look out all around. Don't think I could do it now as I'm more claustrophobic than back then. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good picture of the arch. We got to see it when we visited family there last fall. I was amazed at the tall narrow steel bridges that crossed over and through town with traffic flying. I would never be able to drive in St. Louis! It's country here! :)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. The Missouri Arch looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing this arch for the first time, long ago!
