Will it ever be done???
Yesterday I spent the entire afternoon getting the layers stretched and t-pinned to the floor, then I got it pin-basted. Maybe one of these days I will actually start the quilting. I want to keep my sewing machine free till after Thanksgiving so in case daughter and I get a chance to sew, we can. It has always taken me a while to finish things but now it takes me forever to do anything.

I have 3 pinned and ready to quilt...It's been at least 3 months. I do okay after I start, its just making that first stitch that scares me.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is very pretty, I can't wait to see it finished...really, I'm curious what you will quilt in those lovely churn-dash blocks.
So much talent and time goes into your beautiful quilting!
ReplyDeleteWhen completed, this will be a lovely piece.I don't have the patience for quilting, so I admire those who do.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful! And the pattern is just perfect all over!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful pattern/fabrics.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely pattern .
ReplyDelete...I specialize in having a collection of uncompleted projects.
ReplyDeletelife has changed for you, and it is ok to take a long time to do things. it is beautiful and looks like a lot of work to me. plus if I got down on the floor, there would have to be 911 call to get me up
ReplyDeleteI too have a hard time starting things anymore---much less finishing them. Hopefully when your daughter is there you will become motivated. Bob is wiring the shed and chicken house for winter lights. So I go out and watch or see if I can help but he is busy so I say to myself I'll go back in the house and actually get something done----then as I walk in I think maybe I should look at my blog and see if I have any comments and here I am. Oh well I say what's the rush......

It looks lovely Rose. You've got a very harmonious colour scheme going on there. I think we all suffer from not being able to get things finished. I've got a jumper to sew up; it's been waiting since August. Have a great weekend. B
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt top. I'm binding a king sized one right now. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteGosto bastante do padrão.

Awesome churn dash, Rose! I know the feeling about quilts taking so long! I had a top mostly put together for my Grandson last year right before we moved. It was shelved while we orchestrated the moving out and then the moving in, and finally I got back to it. The center of the quilt (a queen sized) was difficult as even with the most careful stretching and pinning, I never seem to get top and bottom flat. There are several "burbles" :-( Some careful un-sewing and re-sewing has helped. But now I've moved onto the outer areas, and plan to give it to him on his birthday right before Christmas. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI know for sure it will turn out to be a beautiful quilt! You are so creative and patient and I love the pattern.
ReplyDeleteHi There, Love that pattern and your colors are gorgeous... I'm sure it will be marvelous once it is finished.... I find that I can't do everything I used to be able to do these days.... George and I both are just slowing down in our OLD ages.... NOT FUN --but the truth!!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you got to your sister's home for dinner yesterday? I know that Neal and Patti did --but don't know if it was an entire family thing......
Happy Thanksgiving...
I am thankful for YOU.
Hugs,
Betsy
It looks great!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is going to be beautiful, Rose! Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteso pretty, gorgeous colors. good luck!! Happy Thanksgiving!! ( :
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have a talent. In the 50's my mama and I made two quilts for me because I was getting married. That was my last. Mama did most of the work because I don't have the talent.
