Life...
This photo is from 2011....just such a pretty, unique plant. I am not sure what it is, but thought some of you might enjoy seeing it.
*************
I took Roger to a psychiatrist in Carmel, Indiana yesterday...that is approximately 100 miles away. To no avail...he did not think he could help him break this coughing. There are certain things that will always trigger his coughing. So it made me think it was maybe behavorial. But then some of the time, I can not spot a trigger...he just starts coughing. This dr. talked to him/us for a couple hours and said he did not think he could help him.
But he does want him to try a couple new meds...one an inhaler with steroids to try using for the cough itself. And a new med that is supposed to give new energy, and allow him to concentrate. He said there is nothing in it to ease pain, but that he always has people saying that it helped their pain. He wants to hear back from us on how it works. And to go back to our ENT if it helps...because it is much easier to go to the ENT, plus insurance covers the ENT.

I have spent the afternoon trying to get the yard mowed....it is almost done. And I broke down all those boxes this morn and they are out for the garbage man to pick up tomorrow. I also went and picked up Lorelei...she is going to spend a night or two here.
I have not had time AND energy to touch anything that needs done inside...maybe I will get to that in the morn. Tomorrow is allergy shots for Roger.
I hope that you all have a good day tomorrow...
Edited to add:
Ruth has identified this flower as Larkspur...thank you so much Ruth!

I don't know what this flower is either, but it is beautiful. The color of the sky on a summer day. I think it was a good idea to take Roger to the psychiatrist. And who knows, he may have prescribed the perfect thing. Please let us know if it helps. Mowing, Roger, &Lorelei are your priorities. Anything in the house that needs cleaned can wait. When we get older, we just need to re-prioritize.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot on your plate. It's not surprising that you lack time and energy!
ReplyDeleteHopefully having Lorelei around will be a welcome break.
Pretty flower. I hope with the new med, Roger's cough will go away. Lorelei will be good for company for you and Roger.
ReplyDeleteThat pretty flower looks like a Larkspur to me, but I could be wrong. So sorry that Roger has these ongoing problems. It adds a lot to your workload.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bloom and a super photo. I have heard of Larkspur. I can only imagine how aggravating it would be to have a cough that won't go away. I hope your Roger gets some relief soon!
ReplyDeleteHello, pretty flowers and image. I hope Roger feels better, sending prayers and well wishes. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI do hope something can be done for Roger's cough. I wish him only the very best in getting rid of it. You started off with one of the prettiest flowers I have ever seen and am happy to see that Ruth identified it as a Larkspur. You've been one busy lady and I sure hope you can rest up some over the weekend. Wishing you a great one :)
ReplyDeleteMy dear Rose...do take some time to rest and breathe!! You need this time for yourself, if not for Roger.
ReplyDeleteAnd, if you could ask around, some communities help out with hard chores for families that need help. Ask around...you may find some charities that will mow.
Free of charge.
My SIL had a cough like that and never did find out what caused it. Hope whatever the Doc gave Roger works. Enjoy your time with Lorelie.

I need to start reading your blog again to find out what is happening with you and Roger. I'm sorry about Roger' cough. I've known others with persistent coughs, so if I hear of anything I'll pass it on. I hope the medicines he got works.
