Chickens, and a bit of this and that...
Just thought I would show you this girl...she belongs to Roger's cousin's wife...her name might be Goldie...but I am not sure. There were a couple of these Buff Orpingtons, and I don't know which was which.
Here is this handsome fellow with one of the girls...but I cannot take my eyes off him. His feathers are absolutely gorgeous.
As I looked for photos to post, I am listening to thunder and it is pouring rain. There were severe storm warnings out but that is past us for now. I sat on the porch and listened and watched for a bit. Even the sound of the leaves rustling in the wind has a fall sound to them.
And don't you love that smell of the dust settling when it first begins to rain?
Someone told me to watch Vera and I am sorry that I don't remember who told me. I would like to thank them. I am really enjoying the series. It keeps one guessing till the very end, much as Shetland did.
I hope you all had a good weekend...and have a good week ahead.

These are beautiful chickens. I need to rethink about eating at K.F.C.
ReplyDeleteThose chickens are beautiful. The way you describe the rain and thunderstorm,I can almost feel it. I love a good thunder/rain storm.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do love the smell that comes when it first starts to rain,
ReplyDeleteHow I wish we'd get a good soaking rain soon.
Those chickens are beautiful. I wonder if the rooster is fierce... all the roosters I've known have been just that. Now I'm actually scared of them.

ReplyDeleteit was me who mentioned Vera, and am glad you are enjoying them! I adore these chooks... YAM xx
Beautiful chickens, both the girls and handsome male. I think Vera will be interesting to watch because I love suspense. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHello, the chickens are beautiful. The male is handsome. We seem to be missing a lot of the rain, our plants need to be watered. Have a happy day and a great new week!
ReplyDeleteOh that rooster is gorgeous. There is one just like that along my Farm Loop walk.
ReplyDeleteI think these chickens are the prettiest I have seen.. photos anyway. I have not seen many chickens in my life, and in the past 35 years, only 2 at the historical village. I agree his feathers are magnificent and so are the golden girls, their feathers are beautiful
ReplyDeleteI am not a rain person, I don't like storms or rain or the sound on the roof. I do love the way the earth looks after it quits raining, all washed and happy and green.. I prefer my rain to come while I am sleeping but not with loud booms... I am happy today, we had 4 hours of sun yesterday and the sun came up today and is still shining. yay sun
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty birds.
ReplyDeleteHot and humid here, and the thunder has just started. We could use a little rain, and then I won't have to drag the hoses out. :-) We have chickens, but we've never had roosters because it's against city ordinances. But, those handsome noisy guys do have the color don't they. :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful chicken pics. Such lovely coloring.
ReplyDeleteWe had rain about dark last night and I enjoyed the cool breeze and the rustling of the leaves. Fall cannot come soon enough for me.
Hope you have a good night.
Beautiful chickens. I haven't watched Vera yet, but I loved Shetland.
ReplyDeleteI would love to say...it's raining here too, but alas ...no go.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos you shared. He IS a pretty one.
i think i enjoy storm smells ... one is a-brewing now ... i guess it is that time of the year ... we had a wild windy one yesterday ... picking up lots of limbs and leaves ... great exercise. have a good one. thank you for your visit. ( ;
ReplyDeleteI love the Buff Orpingtons. They are always big and fluffy. That rooster is pretty and reminds me of the one we have now. You know, I hear a lot of folks talking about how mean their rooster is, but we have never had a mean rooster. Maybe its because I talk to them. :)
ReplyDeletethanks for the TV recommendations. Those chickens and rooster are sure pretty. Terry loves chickens and always wants to have some here. I STOMP my foot down. Dogs and chickens? I don't think so. This City Girl cleaning the coop when he can't..No Way Hosa'

Lovely chickens and she looks like a Goldie :) We have been having thunderstorms, two doozies over the last couple of nights. Nothing tonight yet. Yes to the dust settling. I've watched Vera but not in a while. Thank you for the reminder as I do enjoy it. Enjoy the rest of your week Rose.
