A little update...

First, Roger got up and felt better yesterday.  I wanted to wait and see if he still felt better today before I posted an update.  He still stumbles easily.  It is sort of hard to explain.  If we are out somewhere, walking into the store or walking around in there, he doesn't do it.  It is just funny moments here at home....funny as in odd.  Not the ha-ha kind of funny.  And he is definitely not good bending over to do anything...here or anywhere.  But he has stayed up both yesterday and today.  So that is very good.

The contractor sent the guy back out about the roof.  And the gutter part of the awning.  The hole in the gutter is old, and I agree with him about that.  But how it got there is more than I know.  I often sit on the porch if it rains, so I am positive that it had not been shooting back on the porch.  But he is going to try to stop it up with something.

It was one of this guy's men that had did the roofing.  Anyway, he is going to raise up the bottom part of the shingles and slide in a piece to extend it past the drip edge.  And going to redo around the exhaust from the furnace and see why that one spot is sunken.

So we shall see...but I do feel like he will try to do it right.   They are supposed to be out Monday to do it.

I hope you guys are having a good weekend....

  1. I am glad that went alright, and the man is going to handle it. Good for Roger, staying up a couple days. This could make him stronger. The leaves are so pretty.

On balance I take both items here as good news and a positive lift. It may not necessarily feel like that when you are amidst it, but I do hope you are managing to have a reasonably serene Sunday! YAM xx

  5. I hope they show up tomorrow and take care of it and get ready for the winter months..does Roger BP meds? bob and I both take the same BP med and it causes dizzy spells, and we both have to be careful when we first stand up, to balance and get ready to walk, we both have to be very careful when bending over. we can do it, but know to balance. side effects of the bp med. hope Roger is better today.

  6. Glad Roger is better. It's one day at a time here too. You just never know when Terry will sleep all day. I'm glad that contractor guy is making things right.

Gave a good day. I'm pretty sure your weather there is a bit better than we are having up north.

  9. So happy they are taking care of the problem - they sure should.
Glad Roger is feeling a bit better.
I am sorry his balance is so affected, but sometimes we get to that point in life that we just have to find new ways to things, You know that Glen and I had to find all kinds of new ways - it is different, but can still be good.
    Love you girl!

  10. Oh Rose, what a stressful thing life can be. I will take the high road and say "come on life help out here". Stressing in itself is stressful---dumb saying but true. I am sending sunshine and roses your way.

  12. Ah! Done and (almost) done, just in time for a beautiful autumn season. I love rain (and we've had precious little; in fact we are practically in an official drought), but I don't like it if anything leaks. xoxo

  13. Hi There, Glad that Roger is feeling better ---even though your worry has to continue, not knowing when he'll fall again. Does he use a 'walker' while in the house??? That would help him --and YOU, if he would be willing to use it.

Medications can cause dizziness. When I was on some Beta Blockers last year for my A Fib, I couldn't bend over without getting dizzy. Those meds also made me light-headed and out of breath... HATED being on them... Some of the common beta blockers are: Metoprolol (Lopressor), Carvedilol (coreg), etc. Most of the beta blockers end with 'lol'..... Check his meds for side effects --and the maybe his doctors can make adjustments...

We had a nice (short) visit with Neal/Patti recently. Met at Mammoth Cave for a couple of days for some fun together. They are going to Niagara Falls soon --and we opted not to go.

We have had to have some roof line problems also... NOT FUN. Hope you get it fixed soon...

    Love,
    Betsy
