A few more...

I am in the process of getting more leaves ready to applique..I still need to count and see how many I have already appliqued.  I have no number in mind that I want to do..   I do want it big enough to snuggle under.  But that may be it.  I have no idea how many oranges I have. But several.  Fabrics will be repeated.

Every time I see a new orange fabric I buy some.  And one I have bought twice.  I did not remember buying it the first time.  I have this one orange fabric that will be hard for me to cut...it is just so pretty.

I have had some stuff going on that has had me busy...got one thing taken care of only to have something else come up last Friday.  I thought I heard the furnace making a funny noise, but then no.  I didn't hear it.  Then I heard it...it was only at the behinning of the heating cycle.  Lasted maybe a minute or two.  Besides worrying me, it also got on every last nerve I had.  I went down and listened....it seemed to come from the humidifier.

I came up and turned the humidistadt  to zero... and called heating & air...they could not be here until Monday.  I unplugged the humidifier...it did not completely stop making a noise but it was a lot less annoying...not so loud.   And Roger went down and I heard him hit something.  The noise completely stopped soon after that.

The guy came Monday and could find nothing wrong at all....it did not make a peep when he plugged it back in and forced the furnace to blow.    I had him replace the filter while he was here.  I really liked him...felt like he was honest.  And did not feel at all worried about theft.

After all the mess with the repairs from the hail damage, I did not know if I would ever feel trust again.

Just going to leave you with a little something funny....it is old but every young person I have ever showed it to thought it was funny.

We still watch it every so often and I still imitate Jim saying 'Slow Down.'

  2. Hi - very funny clip! Thanks for sharing. I am glad you were able to find an honest repairman for your humidifier. Very important to have good repair techs you can call when you need to.

  4. You are going to end up with a larger quilt than you thought I bet! I love those fabrics - so pretty! I understand about fabric that you don't want to cut into.

I'm glad your furnace is okay. I hate it when things like that make odd noises. It will drive you crazy and make you think it is falling apart. You said you have a humidifier with your furnace. Does it make your water bill go up when you are running it? We got a new furnace with a humidifier and whenever we are running the humidifier our water bill is higher. It wouldn't be a big deal but we have high water where we live.

That is a funny clip! I hope the rest of your week goes good for you!

  7. Funny. Never watched it before (I'm not much on TV). Love your new leaves. And any appliance breaking down is not fun

  8. Hello,

It is scary to hear these strange noises coming from the heat sources.
We had something similar happen recently, our son works with HVAC.
Your orange leaves are so bright and pretty. Happy Thursday, enjoy your weekend ahead.

  9. Priceless! Loved that program.

Glad the noise was nothing serious!

  10. Reminds me of an old joke from The Goon Show (old English comedy programme). Man is being questioned. What is your name? He answers "Ah, the hard questions first."

  11. Roger did exactly what my DH would have done... given the furnace a good thump. I'm glad it worked!!

  12. Beautiful fabrics! Yes, glad the thump worked :) We have singing pipes right now. We have had them ever since the plumber visited to fix a few things around here. I guess we will be calling him soon if we can't fix it ourselves. We are trying a couple of things from a YouTube video first :)

  14. OMGOSH I laughed so loud I woke the dogs up! This clip made me happy, then I got a little sad remembering how great the old comedies were. NOTHING on TV now compares.

    Thanks for the laughs.

  15. I'm glad your furnace is ok and I hope it doesn't start making racket again! My computer harddrive makes a bunch of fan noise. I keep thinking it is going to blow or die, and I bet it does. Just trying to get photos off of it for now.
Hope you have a great weekend!

  16. Isn't that just like it, it makes a noise and then quits when a repair person is around.

    I like your orange pieces:)

  17. Your sewing inspires me to sew also. I started straightening up my sewing area this week. There was a huge pile of mending waiting for my attention. It must be finished before I can start anything fun because I need the space to work. I will keep reading your blog whenever I need encouragement to get to busy.

  18. I've never understood what a "furnace" is? OK, I know you have them in the USA but we don't have such an item in NZ or not in the terms that you do...

We tend to have different appliances to heat water, heating, cooling and so forth...

I love ORANGE coloured fabric/thread/paper/paints...looking forward to seeing what you create...
