It is dark and dreary here in West Central Indiana...I thought while I am not tired I will try to do a little post...
Last weekend we were at our daughter's house...had to be there Friday to be there while a guy was working on her kitchen...I will try to think and download get some pics from that in my next post.
One evening she and I made a run to JoAnn Fabrics...they were having a sale on Christmas fabrics.
The above is something Daughter is making with some of hers. It is going to be either a small throw or something to use as a table topper or to just hang on the wall.
She is also in the mood to start another quilt using 2 1/2 inch squares of fabric...using all neutrals. these above are not sewn together. If they were, it would would only measure 10 1/2 inches x 20 1/2. It will take a lot to squares make even a twin sized quilt.
So towards that end, I brought home a bunch of her neutrals and cut a bunch of strips 2 1/2 inch yesterday. She will do the next step an cut them into squares.
She only wanted one strip from each fabric, or what is equal to a strip. Some were just small pieces that I totally cut up. I tried to count the different fabrics and to the best of my ability I got 49, but I am thinking I probably missed at least one or two.

On the fun side, how about a little synchronized chewing?
Looks like you had fun at your daughters. Please, share her finished projects, I'd love to see what she does with both.
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice that you cut the strips for her. Love seeing the pups as always. They are adorable together :)
ReplyDeletesounds like you have the "winter blues" and who can blame you - I get into a dreary mood when winter comes here but not from the point of view that might be going to snow, but rather consistent lack of real warm sun.
ReplyDeletethe quilt cutting would certainly take you mind of what is outdoors and 49 neutral fabrics are going to look amazing - being the good Mum and helping get it ready2go.
as for Copper, learning fast!
All the fabrics are so pretty. Can't wait to see finished products.
ReplyDeleteThose dogs - just too cute.
I love the fabrics for both projects, how nice for you to cut the strips. Love the doggie pics,π
ReplyDeleteI love both quilt projects. The neutral one will be very elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe quilts are so different, yet each so beautiful! The Christmas on is so cheerful, and would look great as a tablecloth! But I would be afraid to eat on it! What is your daughter doing to her kitchen?
ReplyDeleteI love quilts made from small blocks. Like Mother, Like daughter, or vice-versa - both so talented.
ReplyDeleteMy but I think you hand must have been tired after you cut all those strips of fabric. I can't imagine sewing them together to make a good sized quilt. It will be a big job but no doubt will look lovely once it's all done.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour combinations. The dogs are priceless.
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to see what you and your daughter have been putting together. Love the patterns as always :) And those pups are so cute, isn’t it funny what they do? I am getting photos from my nephew and his wife, and another nephew and his girlfriend. Between them they have four dogs and a cat, and am getting to hear about their antics. Enjoy your week Rose. I wonder if you will be getting any snow mid week? We are due about a foot so the weatherman tells us.
ReplyDeleteQuilting is so much fun when you and daughter are sharing the same hobby. Both are very nice. The dogs are so cute and very entertaining to watch. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYou know my first comment will be about Delta and Copper. they are so sweet laying together and Beau has that bone and that ball, but his is black. he will not touch them. he gnaws on the bone maybe once a week for 5 minutes. i bought a Kong but i can't get him to put down the orange things. i love that Delta has figured out how to get the one she wants. i like both the Christmas and neutral, but lean towards the neutral for favorite. that is a lot of work. i wish i liked to do things like this because it is much better to spend time creating something useful instead of silly stuff on computer
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteIt is great you and your daughter both love quilting. The Christmas fabric is pretty, I like the neutrals too. I just love both Delta and Copper, they are adorable dogs. Take care, have a great day and a happy week!
Synchronized chewing...gotta love THAT!! I like the Christmas color patchwork best.
