I am posting some other pics of these over on my other blog, and will post this over there, but here it is here, too. This was taken earlier this week. I really felt like I was entering a fairyland with them. I just simply love lotus/water lily pads in all their glory. You see them brown from a distance and are disappointed but the minute you get close, the magic happens. There is beauty still clinging to them.

Thought I would show some of my threads for quilting. These are almost all variegated....they are King Tut...several of these were part of my birthday. Some have been used and replaced. Oh, King Tut is made by Superior Threads. I heard somewhere that the company changed hands but I do not know if it is true or not. I hope if they did, that they keep the same quality.

I have a jigsaw puzzle that I am working and would really like to finish it today but not sure I can. I just simply cannot leave them alone sometimes. I got it out one night, and was good the next day. I did not touch it till evening...but it has been a lost cause since then.

I hope everyone has a good week ahead...
What a deal for $5!! I think I'd start quilting with prices like that (material isn't cheap)
ReplyDeleteYep, puzzles are addictive. But something to do to keep the mind occupied. What is the puzzle?
I'm glad you did an update. Hope all is well.
Sounds like a terrific puzzle subject to me. A belated happy birthday wish.
DeleteI love your picture of the water lily pads! It does almost look magical. I also love King Tut thread but I don't have much of it. I do know it is good quality. Most of the time I use Gutermann thread. I hope you and your hubby are well!
ReplyDeleteShow us the jigsaw when you are done! This photo of the Lotus looks like many exotic birds! They have been such an exceptional series of photos!! I have never seen anything like them.
ReplyDeleteThe water lily is beautiful in all seasons. I just must go visit a pond I know of that is covered in them. My mom used to keep me supplied with pot holders that she quilted, but sadly they are all wearing thin now. I may have to take up the craft to see what I can do. The pair you are working on are almost too pretty for potholders.
ReplyDeleteI popped over to your photo blog to get a better look at the pictures there. The Lily pads are amazing. Who would have guessed that when you first see them?
ReplyDeleteI would love to have potholders like that. 😊
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe lotus leaves are pretty. I like your quilt potholders! Sounds like a great deal, $5 for the big bag of scrapes for your quilting. Have a great day and a happy new week!
Those squares will make pretty potholders. That's quite a deal for $5 especially since you get to choose what goes in the bag.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the picture I thought it was some sort of bird. How neat.
ReplyDeleteThat is a deal to get so many pieces for $5.
Have a great week!!!!!
I did not know until these post that lily pads die and look beautiful, have never seen them this way. maybe they don't die here but live year round, the few i know about are always green here. those are perfect for potholders. love the colors
ReplyDeleteWish I could make potholders. We need some and they are hard to come by. Strange indeed.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the potholders!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the Lotus/water lilies. Had to look close. It almist looks like some strange water birds with long legs. There is still beauty there. $5 for a bag that size sounds good. Bet I could make lots of clothespin doll clothes from a bag. :)
ReplyDeleteRandom or not - it's a pretty life you have there...
