Fall is falling....

This photo was taken at least a week ago...maybe longer.  I just went and checked...October 2...so yeah, it is over a week old.  Can you see the 4 guests that it has.  One of them is a bit hard to distinguish but it is there.  I actually thought there was a 5th but I was wrong.  Anyway, I love goldenrod...

It has rained a bit today.  You would not believe the big old leaves that are on the ground.  Last year, they literally disintegrated while still on the trees from all the dry weather.  That will not be the case this year.  While the only tree we have in our yard is a dogwood, our yard has the most leaves of any place around.

We went to our daughters' houses yesterday....there were so many beautiful trees along the way.  I so  miss being able to ride shotgun and take photos along the way.  Normally I can still sort of do that with my point and shoot because there will be spells of no traffic.  Not so yesterday.  I was behind someone all the way there and back yesterday, or if not behind someone, leading the way for others.  But mostly, behind people.

***********

I wish I had the energy to start my other blog again but I am beginning to wonder will I ever get back on track.  Roger is still doing pretty good, but in some areas he lost ground and just does not seem to gain it back.

We are making a big life change, or in the early stages of it.  IF I can live through it.  If we succeed, it will be a while down the road.  Either way, at some point I will tell what it is.

I will leave you with a little video I just found:

  1. I can see all four of them! My guess about your big change is that you may be moving?

  3. Sometimes we just have to concede that 'normal' has changed! Hugs.
Not hardly any rain here today, but very windy and gloomy.

  4. I love Goldenrods too and I see four insects on it too. Goldenrod are so pretty in a bouquet.

I'm guessing a big move to something smaller to reduce your work load. Change is always stressful.

    I also enjoyed the video.

    Take care and God bless

  6. Even though it has been terribly dry here, goldenrod seems to have thrived. Even though yellow isn't my favorite color in the garden, I will admit to loving it in the wild. I also enjoy riding shotgun and taking in every scene along the way.

  9. Sometimes the new normal is hard to accept. Those of us that are of a certain age seem to be wrestling with this process.
I am glad that Roger seems to be holding his own and that it will spark some renewed strength for you too. You have piqued my wondering what the change will be.
Goldenrod and the critters are lovely but my nose thinks otherwise...achoo.

  20. Life is ever-changing and we are constantly having to cope with it all. After clearing out my parents house after mom died and looking around my house I am overwhelmed by the enormity of ever being able to get my Roger to part with anything! Taking small steps might be the way to go. I look forward to seeing your quilt.💖

  21. It's nice to see the pretty yellow goldenrod, as we're without flowers here now. I've raked twice so far and the leaves are almost down in the front yard; the back takes longer to turn and drop. So pretty soon all the trees will be bare and we will be totally colorless.....I hate that. So your bright goldenrod brighten the day. Good luck with whatever life style change is coming about.

  22. Thinking about you and Roger a lot and wishing you both the very best. Life changes are challenging that’s for sure. Your yellow goldenrod sure is pretty. We have fallen leaves everywhere in our area, people are having a hard time sweeping them up. It may be my imagination but they seem more vibrant colors this year.
