What to post....

I am having a time deciding what to post, and I just typed the title and hit the magical key that posted this without anything at all being in the post. So, since tomorrow is Sunday, I might as well post some photos of this church we passed over in Illinois on our way to Willow Slough the other day.
I don't remember the town it was in, and though we drove on two sides of it, we did not see a name anywhere. It was surely there, but we sure did not see it.
I really liked these features of it...I am just amazed at some of the architecture seen every where you go. But I thought this was an extra nice church. If I remember correctly it was a very small town...in the middle of farm country.
I always wonder who goes to churches this size out in the middle of no where. I don't know the size of the farms in this area, but I do know that farmhouses and barns are much fewer and far between than around here.

What a lovely rose window on that church (I have a soft spot for rose windows! I think they are beautiful!) and the decoration in the arch, as well as the doors is stunning.

A beautiful church shot of the entire building. I like the added shots very much. Those doors are spectacular. I'd like to see the circular window from inside. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who takes pictures and then can't remember what town they were in! :-)

Beautiful church, Rose. I too like that architecture. There are many churches in rural areas across the country --which started fairly large and now are small, and having a hard time making it. We were such a religious country --and now we are getting more and more secular. Just breaks my heart.

Have a great Sunday.
Hugs,
Betsy

Wonderful pictures, Rose. I wonder if the town was much larger at one time. The church certaintly looks well cared for. Love the window and archway too. MB

The window is gorgeous and the artistry above the door is beautiful!
It certainly isn't what you or I would call a country church is it?

Many churches in rural areas here are no longer in use. Yours appear to be still well-cared for!

I love looking at the archtecture of churches. Always so lovely. Love the round window.

An anonymous church. I love it!

Looks like any number of Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, etc., churches to be found in the heartland...

Nice shots!
