Will the real tiger lily please stand up?

I have called other lilies tiger lilies, but when I saw these, it made me wonder if they are the real thing. Does anyone know or is tiger lily just a general term as I have used it for years or does it belong to a specific one?

    These lilies are what I've always called tiger lilies. But regardless of the name they sure are beautiful.

    We've got the exact same lily Rose---and I've always called them Orange Tiger Lilies also... SO--let's go with that name!!!!!

    I've seen these in various colors and whatever color I've called tiger lillies.
