Wings

I captured these the other day...the dragonfly was actually at Willow Sough, and the hawk was on the way there.
I think it is a red-tailed hawk. If you know different, feel free to post in the comments. I am not at all sure of most hawks.

Lorelei is sleeping, but she usually doesn't sleep for long. About 30 minutes at most, twice a day. Every now and then, if I am lucky, maybe once a week she will go down for a whole hour.

I have a quick job or two I need to do, so thought I would hurry and post this.

  1. Give Lorelei a great big hug & kiss.

I don't think it's likely that I'll be seeing Jilly anytime soon. Justin (her daddy) won't return my calls again & this roller coaster has finally taken its tole on me, so I'm just going to have to let go. BUT, I am keeping a journal (thank you so much for suggesting that to me) & if I ever get to see her in the future, she'll have it to read to prove that I tried like crazy & did everything I could to be a part of her life. I can't believe how this has turned out, but I still have hope that things will turn around... but, I've got to stop trying to contact them - it's their turn now - ("Their" meaning Justin & my daughter, Kesley, who refuses to have anything to do w/ me)

  3. Rose: No question about the Red Tailed Hawk, beautiful capture in the sky. I have captured that dragonfly but didn't ID it.

  4. I especially like the hawk. Anyone who can catch a bird in flight like that is one heck of a photographer! Looks like a red-tail to me!

  6. I like both captures. The detail of the dragon fly is very interesting. The red tailed hawk is a fabulous in-flight image. Have a great Friday.

  7. Lovely comparison! The dragonfly is a Widow Skimmer. Hawks...I never get right :-)
